wow very nice,,get everything ready,,put us to work ,,specially carrying glass tank into the house

I hope you have a big HRV unit

sure, I'd be honored but as Ray pointed out...the pressure is on now

Maybe we should just do next months and I can put everyone to work :)

Awesome setup man! I'm looking forward to seeing how this progresses. I eventually want to setup something similar, albeit smaller as a divider between my living room and kitchen.

To see this tank would be like seeing the coins at the end of this movie.

LMAO.

Out of curiousity, do you mind letting us know how much the tank was? I am looking at getting something custom as well and was going to look up Miracles.

Tank Specs:
All edges machine polished
5/8" bottom
1/2" glass sides and ends
Starphire 2 long and 1 short
5/8" tempered end with 1 notch and 2 holes
External overflow with 2 holes and a removable black acrylic insert

OK now I'm jealous :beerchug:
You want a tank made right make it yourself, oh wait, make them make it exactly how you want it. Awesome. How much does a tank like that set you back?

No problem, although I realized I told Ray the wrong price today. Miracles: $2183.00 shipped. To put that into perspective Glass Cages(who won't do external overflow): $3080.00

Thanks, price is above

I was talking with Ray today and we were trying to conceptualize why the back piece is tempered and it's made(?) with the holes and notch. The only thing I can think of is because of the extra weight of the external overflow. Maybe someone with better glass knowledge can let us in on the process.

Where did you get your RO and salt water storage tanks? Tank depot??

Thanks

Can you point me to the section on the site?? Water tank section? checmical tank section?? 130g is far too big for my current need but want something very similar but smaller.

Thanks

i'd go to that meeting and help for sure! just be sure to have beer and sloppy joes for us.

I ordered an Apogee Par Meter last night so I can help find the right placement of my lights without burning corals and learning where I can place my low light suckers.

I also ordered a reactor to put carbon in. I've been running carbon in my smaller tanks for the past few years and I have no complaints against it. I (whatever that's worth, not much) believe it can help combat some of the chemical warfare and pulling out any other toxins. I'm no expert but here is a good read I found awhile back:

Do you plan on dropping in a heater and powerhead into the saltwater storage tank? I always wondered how one would do that in an orderly way ensuring that there was good water movement throughout the entire tank.

I have a smaller Pan World pump I'm going to use to create flow in and out of the storage tank. I shouldn't need to run it too much. Probably a couple timers on a controller to kick it on a few times per day.

I'll most likely have a heater in it since it's in the basement. I havent received the heaters I ordered yet as they were on backorder.
