Time to google joist hanger and ledger lock screws.... would the side view basically look identicle?

Well if you wanna do it cheaper I would say no. You could just frame the bottom with 2x6 the same way all the way around. Double up the 2x6's in the corners on every side of it.

You will need:

2x6's

13-8'
5-16'
9-12'

LVL's are ordered per foot you will need 9 of them 7' long.

You can make the entire 3x12' stand out of 2x6's with no problem.

You will want to buy extra lumber never hurts you can always take it back. LVL's are pretty easy to figure out. I figured the rest of the lumber really quickly so just buy a little extra you should be fine. :biggthumpup:

Oh also I figured about a 12-14" LVL so you will only need the 2x6's on the main tank to be about 2' tall.

Clint - I just saw the article about the CB lookdowns in CORAL. You have a tank big enough - you should go for them! You definitely don't see these....ever....in home aquariums!
