I'm looking for a couple 5-gal jugs to carry water. My old Culligan jugs are getting beat up and they don't have a reliable lid. Where do you all find your 5-gal jugs? Jonty, thanks. Found some. HD buckets...not a bad idea either.

I've seen jugs at the LFS, but considering these are recyclable containers, maybe someone needs to recycle their jugs to some poor aquarists. :beerchug:

I bought 6 gallon ones at HD on clearance once for 6 bucks. Walmart has the camping ones for about 6 dollars and the 7 gallon hard plastic ones for 12 I think it is.

I don't trust free ones from companies because you never really know what was in it and if it's safe for water.

many people use 5 gallon buckets from HD/Menards/Walmart/Salt to carry water home from the store as well. seems to work well for them.

If they're that cheap, then I'll have to check 'em out. I just don't want to pay $10+ for a 4.5 gal jug. Otherwise, Cub foods has the 1-gal jugs for like 39cents, filled w/ RO water. But who wants to carry 50 -1gal jugs?

go to cashwise, fill some 5 gal jugs they have there, tell the cashier it's a refill.

We get the ones we sell at the store from Fleet farm, no secret, its $3 cheaper there.

I have 4 you can have for free used 3 times high quality, just pm me and pick them up

Since I down-graded my tank I have an extra 5gal jug I do not need. You can have it if you put it to good use;)

Thanks for the offer, but driving to Savage from St. Paul might cost me more than just buying a $10 jug. :) Thanks for the offer though.
