Halides are running from 23rd august or may be from 22nd since I took my first Tank video on 23rd. Running them in the evening from 4~9. I have the backup of apex from my last tank, will run the same way with little bit modification in programming. Chiller is still not hooked up in the tank. Plan is to setup in this weekend itself.

Unfortunatly, we never park our vehicles in the garage except my motorcycle. So it's more of a room for us where I spent pretty much 50 percent of my time after work.

I believe so, not certain. (I didn't build the house, but the temperature differentials suggest to me that it is insulated somewhat). Issue is humidity and southern exposure. Sun through the windows, moisture in the air, cooks the place. If no AC, the humidity will linger unless pulling it out some how. Also, unless you box in the door and stuff the gaps, there is plenty of air getting in/out around the doors I would bet.

He said he puts his odds at 50-50....I hope he succeeds, for the animals' sakes. I am sure that the margin for error is dramatically reduced here. The margins are already pretty tight on these tanks. This amount of stress just wouldn't be for me.

The last few weeks should have told him a little bit about how it will be in the heat of summer. (Though I don't know if he's fired up the halides yet...) He will find out about how it will be in winter soon enough.

It is an interesting experiment. I am eager to see how it goes and hopeful for the animals. Won't know for sure till this time next year, assuming he has yet to fire up the halides in the summer.

Curious, Anurag, do you plan to continue to use the garage to park the car(s) in as well?

Its not undoable. theres a few "leaks" in the garage door area but other wise the only place that appeared to lackinsulation was the floor. for redundancy sake I had suggested building/boxing the tank setup in its own fish room type setup with removable walls (sliding or something along those lines).. that way the area requried to heat or cool goes down. That leaves only one thing.. and by default two... air exchange (and also humidity)... unlike the rest of the house this space does not have any type of air exchange installed. this could play havoc with the PH. Maybe a small HVAC would help?

When I got the 4 x 4 cube a few years ago my plan was to set it up in the garage... did a lot of research and would have done it tooo except.... lol
I love walking the uncharted route...Anurag is well on his way, I would love to see folks here contributing more and proactively like they always do, no idea is a bad idea

If you heat the garage, it will have to have a fresh air vent to pull in air for combustion, unless it is all radiant electric heaters. I'd ask the heater guy if he can put an air exchanger on that? Moreover, I'd see about venting a portable air conditioner out the exhaust for the heater (if it is a gas heater). Mannish' idea about building a wall between the garage door and the tank is a good one. If you do that, you could just remove the door between the garage and the house and you may get sufficient air exchange that way. You may not even need to install the heater in the garage. (probably still need to put something down on the floor)

If there is no way to exchange air......then I'd suggest this experiment play out for a year without livestock, but I am sure that is a tough sell.

RE: Backups. Apex isn't a 'backup' for what I was talking about. I mean more like 'space heaters' and 'excess circuits' to run the space heaters in the event that your heater fails or it cannot keep up if we happen to get 'blessed' with a -50 degree day this winter. Also, maybe a large brute can to dump things into in the house if the tank has temperature issues and you can't get rid of livestock fast enough. More than one heater in the tank... Things like that. Apex will tell you that you need a backup, but that is all.

I don't have any other suggestions, just concerns. Sorry and again, I hope it all works out well.

this evening came back from work and found fishes were swimming odd, after closely monitoring them, there are thousands of pods in the tank water and they are on fishes body too.

Question, too many pods in the water, good or bad ? fishes are kinda doing rock and roll.

Seems odd. Are the fish eating them? If so, then I say it sounds good. If not, then I would be suspicious. No idea, personally, however.

I would expect the fish to be 'hopping' if they were eating them. If they are just swimming oddly, then again, I would be suspicious.

I have never seen pods on fish personally. Are you sure they are pods? Your tank seems kind of young for pods too. Did you add them?

Yes, they are eating them. atleast diamond and clown fishes are picking them from the glass. I'll click picture. I would say atleast 20 to ~30 pods per square inch. on the front glass.
last week I added a bottle of reef pods from petco, was expecting a growth but seems like this is pods population explosion.

I cleaned the front glass otherwise it was in smilar way the way you see in overflow.

All - I am looking for some turbo snails, I have one in the tank but seems like I need more to do the job, looking for 2 ~ 3, if someone wants to get rid off.
Update:
it's been almost 1.5 months, no issues with the temperature. PH was little issue in the begning but not anymore. on an average when the lights are on usually around 8.20 and in the night goes down to 8.00. Added one hose in the skimmer to get AIR from the room.

Water Parameters
Mag: 1550 (I usually keep high when the tank is new and for atleast 2 ~ 3 Months)
Calcium: 450 PPM
Alk: 170 PPM from HANNA(I Ithink it's around 9dKH)

Running GFO& Carbon in the night. two HOB refugium are runninng one with MUD & another one with Just Sand.

Did you leave this open or did you enclose this somehow? i was looking into having Crystal Welding build a stand for my 135 but i have dogs that will most likely try and drink the water out of the sump or fuge so can't really leave it open.

Here is the stand and 120 g sump.

One quick picture...

All thick algae is gone from the rocks. Still have some left on the overflow and back glass, snails are doing their job.

Tested water today.
Alk:- 168ppm Hanna
Cal: 425 ~ 430 ppm salifert
Mag: 1475 salifert
Phosphates:- .02 Hanna
Nitrates:- 5 ppm
Ammonia 0
Nitrite 0
No casualties in the tank.
Last week started the dosers for alk. Doing 70 ml alk distributed every hour starting midnight till morning 9.
