FedEx Friday!!

Corals Corals Corals!

Hey all, received a nice shipment of corals today from Cherry Corals and a Private seller from Virginia. It was mostly SPS, but I couldn't resist a couple Acans from CC and then a mixture of the two ;) It is my first dabble into Acans so we'll see how they do in my tank! (hopefully better than chalices..)

New Coral:

Private Seller:
ATL Shades of Fall
Red Dragon
Strawberry Shortcake
Highlighter Acro? (free bonus frag)
Tierra De Fuego

Cherry Corals:
Jason Fox Jack O' Lantern Lepto :agree:
CC Sunset Milli
2 Acans.

I was also suppose to meet Montiporalova this morning to sell him my old TEK T5 fixture, well he was early and I was running late trying to dip and mount all the new coral so he was nice enough to drive all the way to St. Cloud. He did not leave empty handed, I gave him a frag of Copps Pink Lemonade for his troubles. :)

On with the show!

Not Pictured; Tierra De Fuego. Sorry it is on the back of the frag station and I couldn't get a good picture I will soon though!

Couldn't sleep last night checked out the build from start to finish. Looking good! I like a little more rock height in my tanks but its all personal preference. Love the sump layout as well!

Thanks Mike! If I could do it all over again I would probably bring the height up a tiny bit but I still really like how it turned out!

Lost 1 red dragon overnight, completely healthy and red last night, completely bright white this morning... this coral is elusive... the other one is looking good still, I hope it makes it!! :mad_3:

On a side note everything else is looking great and full PE, I guess I can't complain.

Water changes just got much easier..

Supdate!..

Today was a good day spent around the tank, I added a dedicated 20 amp circuit for the main tank, the circuit it was on up until today was also powering the garage lights and 1 wall of garage outlets.. I didn't like that and this makes me breathe much easier! Instead, the frag tank will run on the old circuit, much less power draw.

Pictures!

The other project was the new water change station; bought these two 35 gallon leg tanks from plastic-mart.com $100 residential shipping but it was worth it, these tanks fit perfectly on my new 36"x18"x72" steel stand made by Edsal; it holds 800lbs per shelf and was very easy to assemble.

Next up, plumbing! I will be hooking the RO/DI up to the top tank (with float valve) and the bottom tank will be for mixing saltwater.

The bottom rack will be used for hiding all the salt buckets!!

Water change station update!

I plumbed the water rack Friday evening, picked up 3 new buckets of Tropic Marin BIO-ACTIF salt and completed my first water change with TM  I can't wait to get through a whole bucket and see if my corals can tell the difference! Only time will tell..

Also! Finally picked up a Tail Spot Blenny at SWE on Saturday, including a box of Girl Scout Cookies from James' daughter Natalie. Now there's a combo.. a blenny and some Do-Si-Do's! I enjoyed the girl scout cookies on the drive back up to St. Cloud, but I REALLY enjoy watching my new tail spot scurry around. I knew I would love this fish, such a fun personality added to the tank!

I'll get some pictures tomorrow evening, spending tonight trying to find a deal on a Colt LE6920 AR-15.

First look at the new Frag Tank setup!

Frag Tank sneak-peak!
Second addition to the fish nook.

Well first off I would like to introduce my new frag tank build into my build thread, i'm going to have to request a thread name change soon! First off, I am having Reef Savvy build me a custom tank, it is currently under construction and should be here sometime near the end of March. Some information about the frag tank...

Details:
- 36" Wide x 20" Deep x 12" High
- Front Starphire
- 3/8" Glass
- Right corner hybrid overflow
- Rimless

I have been building the stand for the last 2 months and I finished staining it tonight. It will have 2 doors on the front and 1 on the left side. Below is a time lapse of the stand throughout construction. Enjoy!
