    Hello!

I moved to the Twin Cities 5 years ago and just bought a house last year. Finally had room to setup my first saltwater tank. After binging BRS videos all last summer and convincing my girlfriend that it'd be less work than a new kitten (hah!) - I started setting up a mixing station around August. July was spent running dedicated electrical and installing a new utility sink in the basement! We took all fall setting up a RS350 and all the new toys to run it. We were cycled around Christmas, so April will bring us to almost 6 months wet and four months with fish!! We've had our newbie ups and downs and I'm sure many more lessons to come. The internet has been a wealth of knowledge every step of the way. I cannot believe it took me almost a year to find TCMAS - but glad I did! Definitely excited to learn more from the local community!

Photo of our cat helping with the tank attached - I think he enjoys it more than I do!

    - Jack

Welcome, Jack! You may be new to the hobby but it sounds like you did your research and planned everything out before executing. And most importantly, you were patient and didn't rush things which is one of the biggest factors in keeping a successful reef tank.

Would love to see a full shot of the tank.

    Thanks all!

Thanks! Hopefully starting down the right path. My girlfriend calls it her baby tank - looking forward to watching it grow and come together. Project reef rock 2.1 - no real coraline yet. Marinepure in the sump!

Since we’ve seen your cat in both of your photo updates, he is now required to appear in each update moving forward. Right, @acharpenter ?!?!
    More importantly... what’s his name?

Hahah! His name is Dr. Richard P. Feynman. And he has been helping literally every step of the way. I came home from work to find my live sand leaking across the living room on DAY 1 because he couldn't wait to open it.
