Would anyone be willing to help me install baffles in my sump at the party? I want a 2 chambered 10 gallon sump for my 55 gallon build. I have all the tools, I have never siliconed, or cut glass before.

Do you have the tools? Silicone, masking tape or painter's tape, glass cutter/etcher, sand paper for baffle edges, and safety glasses. What thickness of glass do you have for the baffles? Do you have silicone in a squeeze tube or a time for a caulking gun?

Mordim, I would really appreciate the help.
I have clear silicone 10oz in a gun tube from Aqueon. I will bring a caulking gun, painters tape, glass cutter, 10 gallon tank, and sand paper. What grit sand paper should I get? I haven't purchased glass yet, I was going to get regular window pane glass (1/8 inch) from home depot.

Get 1/4" glass. The 1/8" is too thin and brittle.

Where do I get 1/4 inch glass at? 1/8 was the thickest on Lowes, Home depot, and Menard's web site.

Fiji cube has DIY Sump Kits.
    https://www.fijicube.com/collections/sump-diy-kit

Acrylic sheets that are pre fabricated. Including for 10 gallon sumps. You just have to silicone them in. little spendy... ebay has cheaper options too.

Most glass shops will cut you baffles.

I agree with Ironman. You will want 1/4". The 1/8" in too easy to bump and break. I have not had luck finding it at hardware stores in my area. In the past I've either went to a local glass installer and had them cut to size or used a side pane from an old tank--as long as it is not tempered.

I also personally only use glass with silocone. It bonds tight with glass but not with acrylic. With acrylic you more glob on the silocone think and hold the piece in place but it can slow leak easily from one chamber to the next.

Will a 20 ga long sump work for you @Scott Zurek ? I have one here I'm not using that already has the baffle installed. We can easily change the baffle if you want.
I was going to sell it, but I'll Frag it forward to you if you can use it. It'll give you more water volume too. One thing with adding baffles to a 10 gal sump is that the chambers are so small it doesn't leave much extra volume for when the return pump stops and water drains down.

I agree with the above statements that 1/8" glass is too thin and weak for baffles.
Go to a glass shop and have them cut/edge the glass for you. It's the only 100% guarantee that you'll get exactly what you need. If you're not practiced at cutting glass, expect there to be some "teachable moments"; especially with 1/4" thick glass.

Ask @DarkSky about acrylic baffles in a glass sump...

Work great, just make sure you just leave yourself 1/8" of an inch and not make it tight like I did, unless you want water all over your floor.
