I am building up the courage to buy a Bubble King skimmer. I am a little scared. However people seem to rave about them. I am like the Cowardly Lion.

I have never had a bad experience with BK . Not sure what size you are looking at but be very careful that BK skimmers are not like the Chinese ones or even other German ones . They are sized extremely well and if you oversize them like we generally do , it will be a nightmare to dial them depending on the model .

I was not impressed with mine. it was difficult to dial in despite being sized for my system. I ended up selling it and getting a LifeReef.

My all time favorite skimmer. You can’t go wrong with it. Dead quiet and skimmate bubbles like no others.

90% of times it’s because of not having enough bioload for the amazing red dragon pump . You always want to buy one by accounting for low load or medium load capacity as high load by Royal Exclusive standard is not something we generally
    Keep in our tanks .
I always ask slief - distributor of BK in USA

I was going to do this, I have about 100 gallons. Now it might be too much. Could do the double cone 150 or mini 160. Was think of maybe going a little bigger if I can in case tank grows . But if it will be ineffective on current tank that is no good either

    Don’t get that !!! It will be a nightmare to tune a DC180 for 100 gallon .

DC 150 or Mini 160 is best . I would suggest Mini 160 as it’s much easier to tune . With DC 150 , it’s always easier to have the pump outside the skimmer body but tuning it takes time and patience .
