What's a "colony for sale "to you?

  1. Anything larger than 3"?

    26.3%
  2. When seller sells entire piece*? (Refardless of size) *compared to selling a frag of that coral.

    15.8%
  3. Varies, depending on type of coral? (Lps,sps, softie),

    31.6%
  4. Varies on who is selling it. Aka no consistency

    21.1%
  5. If the piece is larger than the typical frag size for that species.

    5.3%

Just curious what people immediately think of/picture, when they see "colony for sale."

Feel free to suggest other thoughts when you see "colony for sale." That the poll did not include as options.
    'Tanks

I’m think a 3” by 3” SPS coral with multiple tech branches would qualify as a small colony in my book. Anything smaller and I would call it a large frag.

Yeah. Some colonies look like frags from the 2000's

What I believe a colony to be vs. what I accept being called one seem to vary now that I think of it...

    - micro frag
    -- frag
    --- man frag
    ---- colony
    ----- actually colony

I would add that this size would also be encrusted.
A freshly cut coral of this size still has risks associated with smaller frags so once it encrusts the mount, I'd be good to call it a colony.
