What is this? I have been watching it change and have thought it was 3 different things in the process. I was given this coral about 5 months ago. It was only a tiny piece of flesh the size of the end of my pinky finger. It has changed dramatically and is still in the process.

20190204_192037.jpg Here it is about a month after I received it. Growing a mouth.
20181124_131525.jpg End of Nov. I thought it was a scoly.
20181223_133631.jpg Two days before X-mas. It is starting to split.
20190125_174512.jpg End of Jan. Acan? Favia? Dunno

Congrats on getting it to come back! Guess a favia as well but I'm a little rusty on the different varieties. Skeleton is the most telling part of what it is not.

The skeleton looks like Goniastrea with the deeper cavities, if it’s the same coral that’d be my guess.

Always tough to tell between them, but I would lean Favia as well
