so I had a 40 breeder tied into my 180 to be able to have my nem and softies in a different tank. I had to tear it down a few weeks ago. Getting ready to set it back up my question is...

Do I plumb it back in to the 180 or do I run it as a separate system? I have all of the equipment to go either way except I would need another ato if running separate. If I could move it to a different location I would for sure set it up stand alone but since it has to stay in the same location in thinking plumb it back the way it was.

If you go with one system, you can sell that sump to Angie. ;)

I’ve always found it to be a toss up. Yea, easier maintenance but if things get out of wack them you got more of the same problem. Plus you can’t tinker or mess with things differently between tanks.

I guess for now I'll just plumb it back in to the other, I did like the ease of a single system. I'll just keep the stuff to be able to split it off down the road if I find a need to, or a better place to put it.

Having it as one system means the extra tank will require minimal extra work.
