i'm in the process of plumbing my 110 oceanic RR, the sump will be in the basement approx 8' below the bottom of the tank,
i'm going to use all 4 holes in the tank for my drains, and have one line for my return, running to a ocean motion squirt, can you still put ball valves in flex tube ? i've thought about using the flex to cut back on the 90s and 45s.
any opinions, will the flex hose be quieter ?
thanks

I belive you can use a ballvalve with flex you just need the right adapters and the flex wont have as much drag or what-ever as the 90's

are you talking flexible vinyl tube or flex pvc (like spa flex)

if you use the spa flex or flex PVC, then you can use regular PVC glue and PVC fittings (ie. ball valves)

if you're talkinga bout flexible vinyl tubing, dont bother

I am going with flex (not spa), only problem I was told is keeping light out of it.

If it helps, I have 50' of new tigerflex brand pvc spa-flex to spare. LMK, if you are interested. It is fully compatible with all 1.5" pvc plumbing fittings. It is an off white color, and should be opaque enough to discourage bad things from growing in it, even in well lit areas. Call me if you want some, and we can negotiate cost. My # is in my profile.
