I have a really nice Aussie gold torch coral that I bought as a single head 10 months ago. It seems to be splitting into 4 heads, but the branches are not becoming as distinct as branching hammer corals tend to be. Any advice on when and how to frag this coral? Probably won't do it for another 2 or 3 months, but when the time comes, I would be happy to pay someone to show me how to do this correctly. Thoughts?

Torch corals grow differently than hammers and frogspawn inside the skeleton. The flesh of torch corals goes down into the skeleton and if the individual head doesn't have a good base of its own, you'll cut the flesh inside the skeleton and it will die. Someone can correct me if I'm wrong, but I've heard a good rule of thumb is to wait until the head you want to frag has a base of 1" before fragging it.
