Really debating on if I keep this sump, has to face this way to match drains/returns, or get a different sump. Thoughts?
I'm not sure it really matters since it just holds equipment, turf scrubber will be above it anyway, just not overly thrilled

Closet deep enough to put the back against the right side? I'd replace if not personally. Might be annoying having all the plumbing in your way.

Unfortunately to keep it, it has to be this way or tear down both tanks and completely start over. Functionally it'll be fine like this since everything but the tanks will be here also. The fuge won't be used with the big ATS running, the dosing line hook-ups (if used) may be in the way when I need to get to the return pumps. Other than that it just seems silly with the back facing out.

If this is a 5-10yr tank....its gotta go. Do it right. Both to yourself everytime you see it, and reefing friends who will be nice enough not to say anything, but you will volunteer that its backwards during the tour.

If you fiddle and change things every 3 years, then keep it.

It may add some head pressure on the return but what’s the harm in flipping it and extending/zigzagging the drain/return pipes to achieve a better outcome? PVC is cheap.

Thank you for the input, gonna keep it since it's what I currently have. It shouldn't be to hard to change out somewhere down the road when I manage to find the perfect sump. 4 drains and 2 returns coming from 2 different tanks isn't worth the pvc mess that it would be required above the sump to turn it around.

Besides it'll give everyone something to chuckle at when we eventually have our next meeting

I always think about what I would do if money were no object. Then there is the hassle of performing the work either way. Usually the shortage of cash wins.
