It's not even that much more! I wish Xcel would stop kink shaming me.
I dont get that here where I live, but if they did send thst, I be right there on the list with ya!
Haha .. Sorry, I usually find everything funny. I don’t know how much of that is the result of what you run for your fish tank. But I used to get letters like those from Xcel until I changed every single light bulb in my house to LED. I have a lot of lights and chandeliers with 5 – 15 bulbs each and I have them on even if I’m not there. What can I say? I like my house to be bright and it is lit like a Christmas tree everyday. Ughh .. Talking about Christmas, that’s even more … I’m a few steps behind the Griswolds .. In any case, after switching all of the light bulbs into LED, I’m now in the more efficient (middle) group, but less efficient than the most efficient ones. Consider every 60 watts that I used before, now it is about 4 watts?? … But I still can’t compete with those most efficient ones. I keep my house very warm in the winter and cool in the summer. Meanwhile, the more efficient ones like my neighbor only opens the windows in the summer time and keeps her house at 62 degrees in the winter time. That does not work for me. Not for my tank either because I run it with room temperature.
Love how it's all in red!
Shit ours is almost off the page I think I'll have to check lol
LMFAO ummmm maybe before casting stones I should show you ours.....
I don't have one
You heard it here first, Nick doesn't have stones.
Ill trade ya!
My fish....I mean my family likes it cool
That is about how my bill always looks as well. I generally assume that all of my electronics factor into the total. But 2 saltwater tanks and 2 smaller freshwater tanks definitely add up.
Using a kill-a-watt on each of my saltwater tanks (for about 2 hours each) it looked like they use about $20 in electricity per month. Since I didn't run the meter all that long I assume that likely varies a bit, by maybe 20-30% more. I intentionally turned on extra gear like all heaters (within a temp range the tank could tolerate easily, and this was during winter) and a couple of other things that aren't always on in order to try to get a better idea
I remember feeling ill after losing my first 100 dollars at the casino. I now toss away my $300 dollar electric bills like used candy wrappers.
We need more nuclear power plants...
I get that same notice of shame every month. Every bulb in my house, aside from a couple of small halogens, are LED. That said, between my fish tank and my reptile tanks, I am always above my neighbors in electricity use. Sigh.
You just need to go to the casino more to try to get back that electric bill money.
I notice the same, I may be a little higher than my neighbors with all the fish and reptile tanks, but they pale in comparison to the air conditioner. My bill is 50% higher in the summer than the rest of the year, and none of the tanks have any seasonal change.
Can you tell when I added the new tank without taking down the old one? My fiancé sure could.
*Ahem* Tell her it's the AC to keep the house nice and cool. *Ahem*
