Here is the situation: I had a Maldives Emperor Angel, probably around 6-7" Very nice fish, fully QT, a beauty. After QT I put him in my display tank. I had a couple large angels in there already, large Annularis and large Queen. So you hope for peace. After about a week or so I realized the Annularis was not going to go for it. I have a buddy of mine that had a nice 150 gallon tank wide open. So I asked him if I could store the Emperor in his tank for a bit while I figure out the aggression issue. Win win. I got to break up the fish fighting, he got to enjoy a beautiful Maldives Emperor. So I brought it over and all is good. In the mean time I was thinking, could I take the other angels out, introduce the Emperor first, and try again. I have some other friends with large tanks, so I could have them housed in other large tanks. My QT is not that large. The Twist: During this time, my friend really liked the emperor, it was a beauty. He had a Powder Blue Tang in another 120 Fat Boy tank that was out growing it. So, we made up a deal to trade. I get his Powder Blue, he gets the Emperor. I know the angel is more valuable, not worried about that...he is a fellow hobbyist and friend. So I brought over a fish trap to help him out for he did not have one. I have a Jlanger special...real nice fish trap. Long story short, his house lost power and the Powder Blue Tang died. I said, that is too bad. He said it was my fish and that I can come and get it, he threw it out in the wetlands in his back yard. I said, I don't think so. I said I could either come get the angel if he didn't want it or he could give me $150 for it...probably a $400 show piece. But friends, whatever. So now I have no Emperor, no Powder Blue, and/or no cash. Doesn't seem right. I will try to create a poll, but have never done one, so not sure I will be able to do it? But in short, what is the right thing to do, what are your thoughts?
