So, while cleaning the air intake on my Simplicity skinner, the motor groove up again. This seems to be a common problem with these skimmers.
I’m looking for a new one as this one is dying quickly.
Footprint in the sump is 10” X 11”.
Any suggestions for a quiet in sump skimmer?

I love my lifereef. They can customize them to your footprint/sump and you can use any pump with them and I feel that is nice versatility. Plus they are modestly priced.

I love my Lifereef as well. It just works. The guy who makes them is also very nice to work with.

Thank you all for the comments and ideas. After lots of research and reviewing videos on YouTube, I decided to go with a Reef Octopus 110INT. My tank is not heavily stocked, and no plans to be like CJ from CJ's Aquariums and have 30 fish in a 65 gallon tank. I like the idea of having the pump on the outside for ease of maintenance, a classic design, and from what I have heard and seen, not very finicky on water height.
