Lots of coral, some equipment and raffle with fish, coral and equipment
Sounds like a great time. Thanks
There's also a pre sale forum that should be opening tomorrow here where members, sponsors post items for sale but have to meet at swap
Jeremy will open them very soon, promise
They are open! Banner at top of every page.
How busy will this be and are vendors open to answering lots of newbie questions? I've been out of hobby for some time but don't want to bring anything home unless I'm positive it will work with my set up. Im trying to make a list of "wants" but the are so many common/ scientific names for the same corals. (I've bought books and researching/ trying to catch up like crazy)
Usually plenty busy, vendors may or may not have the chance to answer all your questions, at least early(first hour always seems chaotic to me), but they should be able to help some, otherwise there are a lot of people around that could likely be able to answer some basic questions for you.
Towards the last half there is definitely more time and remember you are surrounded by fish people so you can ask just about anyone (o: Also, if you are looking for more one on one then I'd suggest coming to one of our many house get togethers. I've always found that very helpful and easy to get a few opinions at one time.
Thank you both! I definitely want to attend house get together when one comes along that is semi close (live over the border in WI). I'm still researching but have narrowed down to acan, gorgorians, pipe organs, candy cane, hammer, and maybe more rfa, ricordea and to continue investigating for 32g bio, before show.
Im not expecting vendors to have tons of time, more just "will this work in my setup and any special feeding needed" type of thing. Very excited!
Do vendors also have equipment, frozen foods along for sale? ( looking to get back up pump & heater etc)
Typically not much for dry goods or frozen foods, it's usually mostly coral from vendors. We usually have one dry goods vendor but he isn't going to make it to this expo he'll be at one in a different state that day
There just may be a house meeting coming up later this year on this side of the river.
I live right in New Richmond, Wi and if you're ever in the area and want to take a peek at my systems and discuss some of your ideas, I'm more than willing to do so.
That would be so awesome! I was taking to hubby about trying to host in order to have one over this way, but if you will be, that's fantastic! I live in Amery. I had a suceessful 14g biocube years ago, just getting back into this again with a 32g. we would love to pick your brain sometime soon? Maybe we can run into you at this show?
I will be there.
Lots of raffle items being posted on the Facebook page including this gem... two full conference passes to MACNA in Orlando along with swag bags of goodies.
I may be able to chip-in with some cleanup. I'll let you know for sure when we get closer to!
At this point just show up if you can. Thanks for offering!
Just an FYI...If you are a member or supporter you can then access classifieds to see what others have for sale or even put a post out "wanting to buy" with the items you are looking for.
* hosting or attending a meeting(I think volunteering) will get you membership
* $30 fee for the year gets you the supporter tag
just so that misinformation is not spread further than need be, supporter status is $30 for 1 year and $50 for 2 years. You upgrade your account here: http://www.tcmas.org/forums/account/upgrades
No big deal either way. Will there be delicious warm Weiner’s for sale at the swap this year? If yes, I will have my lunch at the event.
