Actually, it looks like Jake has a pretty nice price - the pieces are pretty big. If they will catch baby brine shrimp and marine snow, they would probably catch reef chili and cylopeeze too?

i love cyclopeeze. it feeds everything. if this coral is able to grow on these foods, then i think there might be more of these corals showing up in the club!

As long as the piece doesn't sell in the next half hour, I will be sure to save a frag for you for tomorrow.

The 2-hour drive was worth it, despite some storms on way back. Hope Armagedon got through his unscathed. Thanks Jake, you've got beautiful stock.

all is well, we went to a MN herp society meeting (at the U of M campus) after i picked up the gorgonian. im drip acclimating it now (midnight!).

today i watch the polyps while feeding cyclopeeze. i can confirm the blueberry gorgonian will eat cyclopeeze (frozen). the food particles would hit the polyp and it would close up on the food. it seemed to reject the larger full sized pieces, or maybe these pieces were simply not caught well enough and got swept away by the current?

i was able to observe several polyps with cyclopeeze in the mouth, and i kept watching till it went down.

Armagedon, we each have part of the same colony, so I was grateful for your post. I've been target-feeding mine during its periods of polyp extension at dusk or moonlight using PhytoPheast from a long narrow baster. Sort of a blow-by approach. Granted, this isn't solid food, but I have yet to observe any visible reaction such as polyps grabbing or closing... nor do they seem to "perk up" from what I can tell. They're like bits and zeros, mostly open or shut. I don't have Cycolopeze frozen, just the flake. I might give frozen a try.

i think this is what your thinking of

yea, a google search with that name came with some positive hits.
this one had some basic information on it http://www.qualitymarinelife.com/QBlueberryGorgo.html

anyone interested in this Gorg should take a read at this. this link should give you some ideas on what you'll need to keep this coral.

i have mine placed in an area of gentle flow, and i feed the tank the cyclopeeze and let the little bits of food reach the coral on their own. i dont think blasting the coral with food will get the proper feeding response. i also dont think its capable of catching phytoplankton.

im not sure if the coral was open most of the day because i was feeding for most of the day, but yesterday this gorgonian was open all day. wish i could have said the same for the sun coral.

im rebuilding the rack that is next to the reef, from there i'll construct my food tank as mentioned in another thread. then ill get rotifers and see if that makes an improvement.
