My 1st tank (1 Viewer)

Live Rock!

That's right folks - we've added rock! Most of it is dry rock - not cured or anything, we added a few LR pieces from out Living Room tank. We also added another filter (so it now has a 30 G Filter and a 100 G filter) The temp cover we have is an old glass window.

Thanks so much Merk!!!

B/f looked up the company and lights posted above and we plan to save up for fancy dancy T5's. I've been cutting corners for enough years to know there are something that just need to be brand name (Ketchup - NOT catsup, Applesauce, Imitrex, Soy Sauce, Shampoo, Perfume, Make-up, Mt Dew, Toilet Paper, Q-Tips, Reed Diffuser Oil...)

I'm very excited for the FIF from Ang!:greenguy: Thanks!! I can follow the rules, I don't want to mess with fishy karma.

being a cheap skate (no really Hun, I can! (shes a member here)) it's hard to pony up the $ for a light. But I have lots of not-so-good lights to know..

BTW Angie is selling a nice 48" light, it's metal halide so it's a little harder on the electric bill, but it's a good light at a decent price.

looks nice, good start

building a tank makes one all giddy :D

are you going hob overflow, or hob skimmer? im not a big hob overflow guy they make noise and leak, although having the sump would make WC's, dosing and such easier.

The tank we're building now is not drilled or drillable so we're doing a hang off the back filter (or two). I've heard once you go sump you never go back... that is yet to be proven in this house yet. :gay1:

shouldnt need much of a filter with the live rock going, youd still want a wee skimmer even if its a fowlr, bakpak would work great.

O. M. G.

So I get a call at work today that the tank in the living room (75G) is leaking so we have to move all the lights and life into the bedroom tank to fix the tank - decided we'd just change the plan and make the living room tank the aggressive one instead - save a lot of stress on everything we already have. SOOOOOOO, I get home and he's already taken out all of the corals, LR and working on the fish. Starts pumping water out... while pumping water out he starts cleaning a bit - picks up a gallon jug of distilled water (used for calibrating the refractometer) and realizes it was a lot fuller last time he used it.

OH so much work for a 1/2 gallon of water.

So... from here forward the 75G Baby will be located in the living room. When the corals de-stress I'll take pics of the new layout.:brick:lol:freak6::stars:

Bedroom coral tank

I said I'd post pics once the coral calmed down and opened up of the bedroom tank, after this post the build will be the living room tank... enjoy ;)

Or.... I don't know how to put in pics w/o attachments... and I have too many of those. Ummm... if interested they're in my album on my page.

Standard lens. We have no Macro lens right now... UV filter but that doesn't really make a diff for these - it's just always on unless he changes the lens or filter intentionally.

I'm betting when he gets enough $ to get a macro lens he'll instead buy himself a new camera and hand this one down to me...last time we could a fford a new lens we were taking a lot more long range pics (Split Rock Lighthouse & such) so got a telephoto instead.

No cheap hobbies in thsi house... cameras/photography & saltwater.
