does ANYONE have experience with jellyfish???

i could use some tips before i learn the hard way.

jellyfish arrives on friday, kreisel is to be finished by tonight.

time to search google.

btw, this isnt my jellyfish, but someone who ordered it for themselves before making sure they had a tank for it. LUCKY for the jellyfish, i have built such a tank already and just need to finish a few things before its ready.

I had two Cassiopeia for a while. My biology professor ordered preserved specimens for a lab lecture. Imagine his surprise when they arrived alive! Since he had no means/desire to keep them, I mentioned I had a saltwater tank, and so he gave them to me. They lasted several weeks, since they tend to rest on the sand bed more than swim, but they eventually crossed paths with the powerhead.

You've obviously built a specialty tank for them, so I don't have any advice for you. Just thought I'd share my experience.

Nice kriesel Chad...did you custom fab that or was it made by someone? If it doesn't pan out for the jelly you can always use it for rearing other fish

well, the jellyfish did not get shipped. not sure why. but there are still plans to order one the next time one is available.

im just happy that i have more time to finish the kreisel.

not yet, we just got a special saw to cut out a part for the screen.

One thing you have to make sure of is, Nothing that can suck in/power heads, they will suck in the jelly fish and bits will come out.
As for feeding, feed it into the mantle/head from the underside.

Where were the jellyfish going to be ordered from? About how much were they?

I've only been able to find them for sale two places online, jelliquarium and jellyfish art. Jelliquarium sells only to tank buying customers and I believe jellyfish art will ship to anyone, though the prices are a little high, especially with the $50 overnight shipping charge added on.

Not ready for them quite yet, still working on my psuedokreisel, though a good source would make me work harder/faster

I'd love to find a great source for moons, pacific sea nettles, and comb jellies for a few options, though I'll probably start with a few moons.
