Marineland 150Gal DD starphyre front, for real this time...... (1 Viewer)

so im going over it in my head and i think the only other thing that i need now is the skimmer a heater and some powerheads. i will be using tunzes!

now its opinion time. the take is 3' x 3' x 27'' tall. its gonna be LPS dominate with a few softys and zoas. prolly VERY minimal SPS if any. just don't want to have to have that level of care right now. sssssoooo my question is what tunzes should i get? and how many? and NO i don't want an vortechs. i really don't like the way they look or the act that you cannot aim them.

LPS and softies don't need much flow, also depends on your aquascaping, that's gonna be a big part on how many PH you will need.

The lack of aiming is really a non-issue with the Vortechs. The type of flow they make, well, really doesn't need aiming. But I'm with you on the ugly.

Do to the depth, I think you'll need at least 4 Tunze's to make sure there aren't dead spots. I'm assuming controllable? Maybe 2-6105s and 2-6055s?

2x 6105's....depending on your rockwork, you could place them on the back panel and they would be relaively out of sight. Also, with the control feature, you could dial down the flow for LPS/softies, and then if you get the SPS itch again, you could ramp it up again

i got the rockwork the way i want it. now i just have to rod it. blah.... not looking forward to it. call me lazy.

since i now have a full week off work with the new baby this puppy is getting plumbed!!!!! should have water by the end of the week!

it alive! its alive! i don't have pics just yet but i have the plumbing done and its filling with RO/DI right now =)

there was no physical way other then a pierce valve to connect the RO/DI filter to the house. that was actually really scary to do. but it works awesome so far.

this thread is pretty old. I've only been reading for the past 5 minutes and i'm stoked to see it
