lol... i said f'it im only doing this once..... i can regret purchasing alot of equipment and not sweat it.... a skimmer is not a purchase i can do that with... so i went with the bk 400.... *remember what happened the last time i became single?*

and angie i almost bought the one size smaller...... but since i am doing this on my own now i get to do my fish list... and i think to error on the side of caution is deffinetly the smart thing to do

if you do retros go with ATI..... I have a Tek but will be soon going with a 10 bulb ATI. Maybe we can do a group buy...:beerchug:
 
2 48" down both sides and 4 48" down the centers... mixture of fiji pink, purple, and a super blue of some sort... prolly in a blue pink blue purple blue purple pink blue pattern
 
You are planning 8-8bulb fixtures? You realize thats like $1200 every time the bulbs need to be changed?

It seems you have grand plans. I'm skeptical this will ever actually run, but if it does, best of luck to you in keeping up with the operational costs to avoid having to take it down. More than one large tank has had to come down because of the ongoing costs.
 
its actually only 8 t5 bulbs retroed into the canopy... no fixtures... and 6 led fixtures... ive already talked to my power company and gotten approx energy costs for the equipment ill be running... and it truely isnt nearly as much as i was expecting.. i thank you for you optimism though lol.... as far as monthly and yearly costs for everything else im not concerned.. i know what my budget is and im staying with in thoes means....

Oh OK. You were asking about fixtures in an earlier post so I thought you were going to put 8 fixtures over it. 8 bulbs is a lot different from 8x8=64 bulbs.

you will not regret that skimmer. i miss my 300 so bad!! im debating weather to get the cone or another 300 for my 150

thanks for looking buddy, ill hop on google here shortly troll around... would like to get the lumber here over the next week or 2 and get the stand and canopy built while im waiting for the tank to arrive

Make sure you got one that is a current model... RE had some issues with the 400 and put bigger RDs on them... check the RE website and confirm with who you bought it from.....

RE also is experimenting with a titanium alloy mesh for this (and in the future all) model, you should ask about that, it may be worth the upgrade....
