Looking at getting a "bigger" all in one nano. Was wondering what people have on thoughts between the two.

Pro's and Con's...

I have an Oceanic Biocube 29 and while it is OK...I'd never buy one again.

I'm going to replace it with a different cube as soon as the current experiment with dwarf seahorses runs it's course. I'm looking toward JBJ, but may go with something else.

Oceanic.

My issue with the JBJ tanks comes from the glass distortion. I really do not like the level of distortion that the JBJ front glass produces. I do not see nearly the same distortion from the Oceanic BioCubes.

I own a 29g BioCube DX HQI and a 12g JBJ. They have fixed a lot of the complaints about the original BioCube models in the more recent (DX) line.

I has a JBJ 12gal deluxe in the past and just set up a jbj 28gal LED cube. I have been happy with them. In all honesty, they are pretty similar. Which ever one you go with make sure you toss out the crappy filter media and sponges included in each and stick with LR rubble.

I have the 14g biocube, but The reason I picked it (over a JBJ) was that to me, the look of that dark gray plastic always seemed kind of cheap, and just the overall design kind of felt that way too... like something you'd get online from asia or somethign. So for me, it was all about looks, becuase functionality seemed pretty equal, and I just liked the look of the biocube more...

I have a 28g JBJ HQI. I really like the all-in-one design. The one thing I do not like is the distortion in the front corners. Not a big deal but I'm planning a new cube and this one will be glass. I like the look of glass better and I'm not so worried about scratching it.

How 'big'? Red sea max's come in a 60 gallon variety...sounds like that RSM 250 (liters) comes with T5's too, though I'm not sure.

I like my 34g red sea max. Little limited with the lighting it comes with as far as corals, but we are making a good go with it.

they come in 34 gal. and 65 gal. they both use PCs for lighting

personally i like the red sea max's better...only one cord....timer....two power heads....bigger skimmer....overall i think they look nicer too....

The jbj's do come with free stands. Of course the tank it's self is more (gee.. I wonder why the stand is free....) They have the LED option to.

Once you decide I can get you a jbj or oceanic. I've had both, and liked both. Both have a HQI version and jbj has an led version.
