ya i just need to figure out when i can get to a meething so i can be a memberanyone in the shakopee surrounding area want to have a bar meeting at turtles bar n grill??
We need to put together a South Metro "reef crawl" and have members come on down for an afternoon/evening and hit several tanks in the Burnsville/Savage/Prior Lake/Shakopee area. Might make for a fun afternoon and bring some more members to the South Metro.
only requirement is the meeting is called to somewhere with a fishtank. you can bring it to the bar after...
When I hosted my second meeting, it was a club fundraiser Texas Hold'em tourney and my 450 was still empty. We still had alot of people, I think about 20 people played, others just hung out and did their trading and sales...Instead of winning money, people donated high end frags and the entry fee was used to help bring in a speaker... That was 07, I believe...time flies...but the point is, you don't have to have a show tank up to host. Grimreefer hosted a meeting where David Grigor demoed the rod method of aquascaping. Years ago the meetings were THE place to trade, buy and sell...Dirk would often bring a load of dry goods and hold court in the street. It sounds like the goal is to get that feel back.
I've only got one hand as I'm holding my 6 week old that was just pissed at me for being on the internet so this will be a little shorter.
Current meetings are on the calendar which you can find in the forum navigation above. I'm going to try and make the whole meeting process clearer and how to host a meeting. Just need a little time.
I don't recommend that for your first meeting. It is a business meeting and there will be no tank there to see.
MrBill's is worth the drive to annandale.
The only thing that really bugs me is that I look at the meeting here and see nothing about what will be voted on

then I read this
That being said Those are the only 2 hits I get whe nI search "business meeting" It seems as if this meeting had more transparency there would have been more diverse opinions on the matter.....
And the fact that most of you sell on craigslist in addition to TCMAS just kills your argument that you "want to know who you're selling to"
In either case MODS, I appreciate you allowing us to have this thread open as long as you have to let us new guys get our opinions out.
