As for myself I am sure it happens all the time. You see all those names from members here on the site but you have no clue who this person is. You go to a meeting and see all those faces but you don't know who those people are.

I know there is somewhere an old thread regarding this but it is quite outdated by now. Lots of new members, some left the hobby and most of us got a little older in the mean time and we really don't look like 18 anymore. ;)

So let's do this again. Write a little about yourself and get to know each other

Started in the hobby in 2002 with a 20g and kept mostly nanos. Retired in '07 and just got bit by the bug again :cool: I was sort of active in TCMAS back then. Living in St. Cloud at the time however made it difficult. But I remember being to Greg's house in Apple Valley to view his 450g, Devin's koi farm in Forest Lake and a few others. Lot's of new names around here! It'll be good to meet everyone and get my feet wet again :beerchug:

first tank....10 gal when I was about 9, it moved with me when i left home, got married, I probably still have it around here someplace. then got a 55 about 20 yrs ago, turned that in to a reef about 5-6 yrs ago, and last month upgraded to a 90 gal , saw an ad on craigslist that was to good to refuse. Have been super happy with that.

married to Richard for 30 years, have 4 kids, 3 grandkids,

I've been into Saltwater since my first tank, a 75g, at age 16. A good friend of mine used to run the Saltwater section of Premier Pets in Ramsey back in the day and got me hooked. That first 75g had many phases which started off as FOWLR, then housed a baby Nurse Shark (for about 3 months before it grew out), back to FOWLR and then reef. I've had a few tanks since then. A couple of 29gs and another 75g reef. Currently out of the hobby, but slowly amassing equipment for the next setup.

Married to my high school sweetheart Jenna and just had our first child. My son Paxton turns 1 month on Monday!

I graduated in december of 2009 and moved back home while looking for jobs. Decided I needed something to keep myself occupied so I started a 14g biocube. Now, coming up on two years later, I still have the biocube, a fluval edge, and a 5 gallon frag tank (probably going to take that down in the next couple weeks)
I've had my share of problems with my tanks (livestock loss due to pumps locking up and suffocating everything, ich, anemones eating a couple things, fin rot....) but haven't given up.

I'm a college student, majoring in psychology. Going to be a therapist someday. I love animals, aquatic and land. Started getting into saltwater a few months ago and love it! Since I was a little kid I've always liked going into fish stores and creeping the lionfish, anemones, etc. It's a dream come true to be doing it myself :) Here is a photo of me and my kitty, Distance.

Yeah I saw him briefly at last years swap, but he had such a line at his table I couldnt get anything bought ! haha

It's ok. his corals are ugly. Just ask him ;) if it was the one last winter that crowd was at the booth next to him!
