I have grown up to aquariums almost my entire life. What began as a 2 gallon guppy farm, then to saltwater, then when I graduated high school in '03...to reefs. However there was a huge lapse of time from '05 until '09 that I was not part of this club or a part of this hobby. Currently right now I have a 60 gallon cube...acropora SPS dominated.

Been in the fish hobby as young as I can remember. Breeding and keeping African Cichlids (Lake Tanganyika) for well over 15yrs. Had a saltwater tank about 13yrs ago with predator fish and my dad got stung from the volitan lionfish. :gay1: got into saltwater (breeding) because I got tired of fresh and wanted to get salted so here I am...

I grew up with freshwater tanks here and there, and then when i moved out of the parents house after HS, set up my own ten gallon freshwater. That ran for about 5 years, and about 9 months ago i set up my saltwater tanks. and have been Hooked. currently running a 55 (soon to be 58), 40BR and 2 ten gallon QT tanks.

Years in the hobby.... Prolly around 15+, though I didn't really know anything until I found TCMAS;)

Currently have a 29 gal show(really just a frag tank now)tank with a 40br with built in sump/frag tank on the way. The picture I posted is the only good one of me but its about 4 yrs old. That's my beautiful, musically gifted, and aquarium tolerant wife Melissa that is on my lap.

Had a 10 gallon freshwater as a kid after my dad introduced me to the hobby. Kept central american cichlids in high school. Graduated to salt water in college (UMD, Duluth, MN). Loved my volitan lion fish. Took a 10 year break and now am back with a 50 gallon cube mixed reef system. Pictured below with one of my twin daughters, Johanna, in Costa Rica.

I'm almost done with college. I'm 20, and got into reefing 3 years ago. I'm in a hip hop band, and I work for Advanced Aquarium.

I've been in and out of this hobby for a little over 10 years...I think. I've transitioned from FO to mixed reefs over the years. My most recent tank was a custom acrylic 120 which is coming down to be replaced by a RedSea Max system - more than likely a 250Max. Not that I am taking a step backwards, just looking for a cleaner setup, no more cord nests, etc...

My wife and I have been doing saltwater since 1995. We started with a 55 gallon FO tank in Indiana. It moved with us to Vermont in 1996, then to here (Lakeville) in 2003 when it was converted to a reef tank. Joined TCMAS in 2003 when it was on TRT. We still have a 55 gallon tank, but the tank was swapped out a few years ago as the old one was bowing badly (center brace was broken!). It is a mixed reef, primarily LPS and softies, with a GBTA and 8+ year old spawning ocellaris clown pair as the center piece. Eggs are frequently harvested and raised by another active TCMAS member (kbb0118).

In tandem with marine aquaria, my wife and I are avid scuba divers. I was PADI certified in 1991, and my wife in 2000. We don't/can't dive as much as we would like, as our kids are still too young - 10 and 7. Conversations with them have already started to get them ready for scuba too - another 5 years or so, and that will be a family vacation theme. Diving photos are from Marty's Wall in Grand Cayman, using a cheap ($25) 35mm camera with case, good to ~100ft. Still too chicken to bring down our Nikon...maybe when we start diving more often.

City: I guess Duluth, I go to UMD for Mechanical Engineering. Grew up mostly in Pequot Lakes, MN.

I got into the hobby myself in 2008 with a 12 gallon eclipse, then upgraded to a 29 gallon in 2009. It's mostly LPS dominated with some softies. I've always had saltwater tanks growing up. My dad started a business making protein skimmers, sumps, and tanks. Needless to say our whole house had tanks in it. He even made a filter for Shamoo's tank at Seaworld in San Diego, CA.

Don't mind the sign I'm holding, I was the "MAS" in "Christmas" haha

Hi.. started saltwater August of 2010. Had a small 20 gallon tank and within 2 months I had already upgraded! Never realized this hobby was so addicting!
Running a 75 gallon mixed reef right now and planning to upgrade my tank for my winter project.
