For sale - Tanked Tank (1 Viewer)

that did not last long.

as to why, buy it and try to clean it. you'll figure it out. Or read the q and a "Tank is for sale do to financial and personal issues and the customer would not be selling if not for this reason. The aquarium and all equipment is like new and in perfect working order."

wow.. a top phathom skimmer.. I thought those old things where retired by now.

I have an idea why it's for sale already... They spent thousands of dollars on it and hundreds (if not thousands) on filling it with fish the same day they filled it with water and then everything died when it all cycled. Then they tried to clean it and realized it is a huge pain the butt.

I will admit I do not watch the show but I caight clips from the internet and I really don't understand how anything lives at all.

I guess the other possibility is that I have been tricked by hollywood... and they actually take time to get everything cycled first. If so, I will gladly stand corrected.

The last show was all about them designing and building a $30,000 QT and Hospital tank system for a repeat client.

And I complain about any tank being > 24" Tall as impractical when it comes to maintenance. No actual hobbiest would have it.

put jelly fish in it

All it would take is one dead fish and not even dirks 50" grabber (Used in the 48" deep reef tank) would be able to reach it. Nor would you be able to SEE it while you try to grab it.

I think zocr-AZ summed this one up prefectly, haha.

They don't seem to use any live rock in their tanks? Maybe they have something better that none of us know about??

Someone posted a mr saltwater interview.. they have some mirical in a bottle that is a instant cycle. just call them they will send you a sample (at least that is what they said in t he video )

Looks like it would make a great frag tank. One 3 watt LED at the top should be all you would need, huh?

I wonder if they have already thought about getting a FISH person involved in the show at all? It might be a nice addition and it would definitely be fitting seeing as it is on Animal Planet and all.

It could be like Pawn Stars kind of with that restoration guy (both sides are professionals, but it shows the inner workings of both as well.)

Example conversation from the show:

Tanked: Ey' yo! We built this friggin' sweet fish tank that looks like a telephone booth, but we should get an opinion on it before we make a final decision.

Fish expert:WHAT THE #$!@ ARE YOU GONNA DO WITH THAT THING???

Tanked: Tell Chum-bucket he's an idiot for building this thing. Sorry we couldn't do business though.

I've heard them say conflicting things that they have two marine biologists on staff and they've also said they have access to marine biologists. Those are quite different statements.

Make cool tanks all you want just make them practical (so they can be maintained) and don't let skateboards bang off the side of the tank.

I want to watch the video of someone cleaning that phone booth tank. Comedy for hours and circus music in the background.

I also have access (not on staff) to two Marine Biologists. They work at ERI. Not to mention the ones that work at quality marine and others.

Kinda makes you wonder.

The phone booth is easy to clean, drain and open the door, duh ;)

It's sad to see these rich SOB's buy these expensive a*s tanks with no clue about what they are doing.

And Clint, the door cannot be opened, it has been permanently sealed so that the utter stupidity of this tank does not spill out of it. :beerchug:

Agent462, I like you skateboard comment, the fish would be scared to death, it would be like constant terror from above for them. Cruel in my opinion.
