The problem is I dropped it in the tank and now its not reading, just all blue I tried drying it but still nothing, any way of fixing the darn thing it cost me $40 bucks for just 5 time use or so:mad_3::mad_3: any help well be appreciated:beerchug:

I've done that and replaced it thinking it was broken. However, letting it dry out over the course of time ( weeks, more then just a few days ) it did eventually work again. Since it was now an extra I ended up giving it away to be nice to a fellow member.

Try putting it in a Ziplock bag with a buch of dry rice in it. The rice should absorb the moisture

That is what i was going to say but with a silica packet (those little packets that come in boxes of new shoes/whatever)..

Rice will work too though  Good Luck

they sell a bag of dessicant at RS and best buy now for phones. comes with enough to cover it in a bowl.

Yep. Once it dries out completely. You will need to pick up some 53ms ( 35ppt ) salinty calibration fluid. Pinpoint amoung others make it. I know for sure SWE stocks it. Not for sure about other LFS.

okay thanks. When i head over to ask how the OLD mans doing I'll be sure to get some.

If you purchased your refractometer there, they may even do the calibration for you ( providing you ask BEFORE you diss the owner ;)).
