Alright guys and girls. Who is interested in getting a group together to grow out some chalices? I think a group of 5 members would be a nice solid number and purchasing 5-10 chalices to grow out and split among the group would be fun. I personally have about 40 diff chalices now but once the bug bites you you always want more:swear: Anyway I am looking to see if anyone on here had any interest in getting something together. 5 people budgeting between $200-$350 per person could get a nice pack together and everyone could grow something out for a year. Ordering from here or here would seem resonable:

Either way, we could find 5-10 pieces for $1000-$2000 If there is enough interest I would personally include 3-4 colonies I would be willing to cut up for the group just to sweeten the deal. Mostly I am looking to do something like this for fun and to see who else has the bug as bad as me:freak6: If you are interested post on here or shoot me a pm. We can work out the details over a few beers or once we get 5 get everyone together and figure out what we want to lock down:tongue:

I was thinking everyone in the group could grow something out if we wanted to spread it around. Or if we want to have a couple growers or one the group can decide together:)
 
sounds cool! wanted to do something like this with sticks or zoos. Last time I tried a chalice, I had v snails and algae growing from it. Maybe im not chalice grower level yet.
 
Definitely interested but I would need a month or so to have my frag tank going.
When I do this I want to do it good and have best conditions for a growout like this.

I would feel most comfortable having one person doing all the growing. Although it puts all our eggs in one basket, I think that experience speaks volumes in this hobby. My vote would be for you.
 
Awesome idea, but I got no budget. I have some healing to do too, I recently bought a small frag that died on me in less that 24 hours :(

I think 6 is the max we should have, I was planning on 5 and closing it but I don't want to cut Max out if he was for sure in....IF you guys are willing we should all meet in person and discuss what the next steps should be....beers anyone? I'm down for Jason Fox or Richard, doesn't matter to me as they both have things I want, I honestly don't care just want to have some fun growing some things out :D

I'd be in. Of the options, I would prefer Jason Fox at the moment. I have little respect for a certain place that claims to have an arousing selection, and I have most of what Rich Negret has that I would want, with the exception of maybe one or two pieces. Worldwide really doesn't have a lot that I'd want, but I can name several pieces of interest from Jason Fox, though admittedly they are spendy and would rack the bill up quickly (which is why I don't have them already).

Anyway, count me in, and we can work out the particulars if this takes off. I personally don't care who does the growing, whether it's one person or a few of us.

Edit: I guess Rich has a number of things I wouldn't mind getting in on. I already have the Rainbow Crush, Flaming Bugatti, and My Bugatti, but I like the Last Shadow, Pink Dreams, Untouchable, JF Crazy Fox (Rich's price is better), and possibly the Prodigy. If we did get those from him, I might be able to negotiate a better price on the group. I've been dealing with Rich for a number of years and he's also approached me recently about a trade, so we could possibly use that to our advantage.

Jason-Like: Firefox, Split Decisions, Pink Bikini, Super King (though a little overpriced), Valentine. Arabella and Banana Dreams are tempting, though I have the Acid Bath which is very similar, so not sure...

I'm liking most of these. Wouldn't mind getting the flamethrower and raging rivers either. I'm not really a fan of that Untouchable. Kinda cool that it is a grafted hybrid, but seems overpriced. How about that prodigy?

Agree about the Untouchable. More the novelty of it than the shear beauty. I wouldn't care if that got cut from the list, and of course those were only suggestions, so it's totally open. I don't need the flamethrower as I've got a few types now, but the Raging River wouldn't be bad (though the name itself was already taken by another well-known chalice a few years ago).
 
Already broke the bank with my new builb. :/ I'll hop on the next one though :).

Neil, just an FYI, the flamthrower is a slow grower. Might not work out with that one.

A few suggestions for you guys: Bakini, JF Banana Dreams, SC Shocker, Effrain Pink Valentine, SC electric melon, SC Golden Superman, death of superman, Tyree Valcano, and Heat Wave cahlices.
