My snails began doing this (about 5-6 of them) and it clouded up my tank pretty good. My question is how does this affect the water quality of our tanks when they spawn? My corals were all opened and extended during this display of love and the fish just went crazy?! I figured it was a free feeding for the corals so I skipped the oyster feast for that week!

I wondered the same thing when I came home to massive snail lovefest that made my tank nearly impossible to see into. Cleared up in a couple hours and didn't have any adverse or noticeable issues afterwards.
 
A few months ago I had a pair of narsarius snails that were close to each other with their antennae intertwined. This went on several nights in a row. Never noticed anything as a result of it though.
