The opportunity came along to upgrade my tank so I decided to pull the trigger. It will be a 90 gallon bow front tank, I used to have a bow front than switched to a cube and now a 55 acrylic which I will post for sale once I have time. I like the viewing area of a bow front tank so I hope to get this going ASAP.

I have a few questions I'm looking advice for.
1) What spray paint can I use for the background on a glass surface?
2) Should I get a different over flow box since this is too small for a herbie?
3) What kind of plumbing can I use to reduce the noise of the water to the sump?
4) How hard is it to build a sump and where can I get the materials?
I already have a 20L I can use for a sump but I need to make sections for it. I will post more questions when I can think of anymore.

Krylon

Yep

Depends - what kind of plumbing you doing - I like the Herbie but I have heard some really great things about the "bean animal"

Not hard at all - you can get glass cut for baffles just about anywhere

I can help to answer 1. And 4.

I used krylon spray paint and didn't have to use nearly as many coats as was recommended to get a nice black background.

As for the sump, should be fairly easy if you have someone to cut the baffles or if you have the means yourself to do so yourself. Then just line them up straight and silicone. Measure each section to make sure you have enough room for your pump, skimmer, etc.

Nice tank btw, it's gonna be sweet!

Krylon spray paint is what I heard works well. Tape off your holes though! And that 20 just needs glass or acrylic baffles silicones in. Any acrylic or glass shop can cut them ( u measure ) and then any reef safe silicone. Looks like it will be a nice upgrade!!

You guys beat me to the answers while i typed!!!!!!!!
Haha

I already taped off the holes in the last picture. Should I do some more tapping?

I think that one Axe Man store has acrylic but its all in different sizes and they are clear instead of black. I will also have to search or a table saw unless you know someone who can help out.

Need to hit A1 Acrylics and see what they have available in their scrap bin -

Something else to consider - do you want the plumbing outside the tank or are you looking at possibly drilling the bottom?

See you tomorrow dude

Thanks guys I'll do that. I need to move my motorcycle out of the way so I dont accidently paint that too lol.

should have saved the 72 bow RR you sold to me :gay1: also how wide is the tank?

How is that going for you? We did some measurement today and sure enough it was a 72 lol. The 90 is the same foot print as well but just taller.

Here are some updates:
Tank is a 72 when Angie and I measured it. We painted the background waiting on another hole to be drilled from Jay then in comes the plumbing. We also started to get baffles for the 20L sump and Angie was doing wheelies on my motorcycle.
