Montipora eating Nudibranchs (1 Viewer)

Did a 100% water change from main system water this morning. Put the colony into a bin with the old frag tank water and used a baster to blow off some of the slime. The white spots are the spots that I basted, I stopped as soon as I realized what was happening. Is this thing toast?

I am 99.9% sure it is dead. It's a bummer as I'm not sure what went wrong, tests at the 5ml dose with small frags didn't seem to bother the frags much at all.

data, My red monticap did the exact same thing after multiple dips. The tissue just became to weak from the dips, and agitating the water caused sections to just peel off exposing the white skeleton. I don't have a permanent quarantine tank as my reef is very small and at work. So I had to place the coral back into the display and hope for the best.

This picture was taken maybe a week or two after the last dip and the edge tissue started to take hold and regrow, however more Nudis were found so I just threw away all of my Montis and am now waiting for a few months hoping they die of starvation.

I'm sure huge sections of that coral are still alive and can recover, it just wont be one giant piece after you frag the good parts out.

Well I've kept it in the tank just in case but I'm pretty sure the whole darn thing is toast. Tomorrow I'm tossing it out. Bummed, was an expensive introduction to these nasty pests.

o man iam sorry to hear that, cross my fingers i avoid those little buggers

Do more than cross your fingers. I will quarantine ALL corals from this point forward with close observation for weeks before putting anything from anywhere in my tank.

Lesson learned, goodbye big dead algae covered monti cap...
