$12 LED Rope-Light for sump (1 Viewer)

I just picked up this LED Rope-Light and for $12.88 at Walmart tonight. Thought they looked pretty cool, they had Blue and Amber.

Eventually, I'd like to rig up those cool magnetic switches like .marshall did. :agree:

Don't really get a shimmer but works great for moonlights.

Looks great! I think the magnetic switch would work quite well, all you would need to do is splice the wires coming from the magnetic switch and the rope like power supply

Thanks! I looked around at Menards today but I couldn't find the magnetic switches like you used but I did find this button-style switch. I think it should work ok.

$11 for this little thing and all three of the ones on the shelf had been opened... :boo:

Stopped in to SWE because I was in the neighborhood, left with a new Tunze ATO system. Slick little package, everything you need in a tiny box. You can see my new Top Off container on the right side in the picture. I also tidied up my wire-nest a little.

Thats a great idea! I have a corner tank in my living room, which has some pretty bad lighting. I'm TOTALLY stealing this idea for my setup.

I starting kicking around options for sump lighting. Found some motion sensor led puck/strip lights but they are battery operated. Eliminats more wire clutter in the cabinet but don't know if I would be changed batteries all the time...I guess that would depend on the led wattage. Will have to take a second look at a magnetic switch and 120v fixture of some kind.

I found mine at the Fridley Walmart, they had 2 more blues and 3 ambers. By the way, they can be linked together up to 3 units. I'll keep an eye out for them and post back if I come across any more.

I checked at 3 walmarts for the blues. Bloomington, Eden prairie, and Maple Grove. When I called They told me they had them at Bloomington so i traveled. Then they couldnt find them T_T I was pretty mad. So if you see them I will Repay you if someone can find me these blues for like 14$ and under. Everytime I call a Walmart they Ask me What Rope Lights are.... /??? Im like okk.. Then one guy says to me " You looking to put those on your RV or somethin"? I'm like FACEPALM. Wow.. Who could imagine I would go through this much trouble for some Ropelights. Should be Easy. WOW. I love Walmart, They Love their employees and Their Customers. I should Be more Thankful. Dont know where else I could find so many Chinese Slave goods. ^_^
