Anyone using these pumps? Basically a copy of Tunze 6105's I think. Can't control the % of flow, only wave cycle (on/off pulses). Doesn't connect with Apex and such- yet. Long thread on RC about them. Basically $100/shipped for a lot of flow.

Thoughts? I'm thinking maybe not for display tank but fuges/frag tanks/fish room stuff maybe. Worst case, it's a magnet mount pump with a ton of flow.

Well I placed an order for one now its the waiting game. I hope it comes within 2 weeks and you will be hearing from me for a video review on the quality of the product. As far as reliability probably wont be able to tell until a year down the road to see if its still working.

I can't see why 5 of these can not out last 1 mp40..

Having troubles with my flow and thinking going with 2 mp40s. Will hold on MPs and Tagging along for future reviews..

In the event that it does malfunction it will test their customer service. I figured why not just give them a try.

Shipping takes a bit I think on these and no discount for shipping multiples from what I quickly gleamed skimming the rc thread

looks like a nice pump, I might have to try 1 or 2 of these on my 125g

I'm using a pair of the Resun dual headed pumps and their going on two+ years with not a single problem. I'm looking for something a bit sleeker and these look like just the right thing for the price! If we do a group buy I'd be in for two.

I would be down for a group buy for sure 1 possibly 2 depending on price

If we group bought 10 of them they would be 95.96 each shipped. If we got 40 of them it would be 78.91 shipped

Personally, I would wait until they have been out for awhile and have been tested by others to see if there are any problems. Speaking from experience when a first generation rio pump imploded and destroyed a reef tank of mine about 10 years ago, I do not trust new items from vendors with questionable track records. Tunze and vortech are pretty much tried and true. Not going to risk thousands of dollars of livestock on a cheap pump.

Im pretty impressed by the response to these pumps but I do have to admit I am wary of new products. As for the failure of the Rio pumps several years ago, its impossible to predict a design flaw like that. Quality control seems to be lacking across the board on many Chinese products. I used Rio pumps for years before they started nuking Tanks. While I did have some problems with them it was mainly having to do with electrical leakage. That being said, these pumps seem like they are worth taking a chance on, especially when the other inexpensive options come no where near the performance.

Put me down for 2 on the group buy. :D

Does it say how big they are? From the YouTube videos they look pretty large but they do look like they work pretty well

yeah the picture I saw of them on RC they look kind of big. It will be nice when Omen gets one in his hands and can give us a size comparison with a baseball or something to see.
