I saw these things in a store near Chicago.. has anyone ever attempted to have one in their tank? Or does anyone currently? And if you do, how difficult are they to have? They look pretty sweet, but sound like a lot of work. And if you have never seen one before.. I highly recommend looking them up, they are pretty cool.

They will starve in the aquarium. Even if you do keep one alive for any time, they leave threads everywhere they go. I've had a scallop leave a trail across the front glass of my tank. I was always cleaning up after it, and it almost never sat where I wanted it.

Ray had a few a couple swaps (?) ago, but they were just regular Flame Scallops - no electric blue wave. Not sure if one is hardier than the other, I doubt it. Mine lasted about 2 weeks than started to deteriorate. I ditched it, for fear it would spoil the tank.

Super sweet if you can get them to live though.

Chad nailed it. They need a constant supply of plankton for them to filter feed or else they will starve.

I've had mine for a couple months now and it's doing awesome! Had to move it a couple times near where I wanted him to go and third times a charm. I feed the tank Cyclopeeze, Nutramar, Rods Fish Eggs and Reef Chili. Kinda a bummer they only live for a year or two, cool to watch.

Video? Pics? How is the electric action?

I have one since January. It has moved so I can no longer see it flashing. Cool when it was up front, but who knows how long it will last. I do not target feed it.
