Once again... Great photos.

You've come up with a great solution to which color to paint the back of the tank.
"Don't!"
Paint the entire room blue so that it feels like the tank overflows and fills the whole room.
Genius!

I don't admit it to everyone, but that was most definitely the plan.

As an aside, I'm joining the club and filling out my order right now for a leopard wrasse that just came up on LiveAquaria. I've been waiting for one to come up for months- She's a beauty:

Congratulations!
I took a look at her also. Gorgeous!
I really like today's Midas blenny, but I'm saving my cash for the upcoming swap.

Okay now... where is she? :greenguy:

When I was acclimating, she was doing a lot of pacing and looked stressed overall so I was a little worried. The moment I put her in the tank she calmed down and started eating pods and frozen within 10 minutes. I'm glad I decided to forego quarantine in this case, at least for now. She did quite a bit of sleeping the first couple days but now she's out most of the day. I know there are a lot of copepods in the system because the anthias have learned to cruise the edge of the sandbed in the morning and eat them off the glass. With your pair, do you feel like they would do fine on prepared food only?

Here are a couple photos:

There she is!!!
Very nice looking fish!
I really like the reds/oranges along the edges.

My pair...:frown: I may have lost the smaller one. I believe.
I have not seen the smaller one since last week, but no body has turned up either.
The female Lamarck was quite aggressive towards the wrasses, but the larger wrasse will stand up to the angel. Whereas the smaller one would scurry away and often bury herself.

As far as feeding...
My leopard wrasses eagerly eat a variety frozen foods. Rod's Food, Pro-Salt Variety, etc.
After I added the wrasses to the display tank, I always add at least some Spirulina Brine Shrimp or Cyclop-Eeze. They like eating the smaller foods. They will attack anything, but spit out the pieces that are too large.
They have both remained healthy looking as far as size goes. No weight loss.
I also have a lot of pods crawling around, so I know there's always something available.

Enjoy your new fish.

You don't have a top on the aquarium did you check to make sure it didn't jump out?

I keep screen tops on my tank at all times; except for photos.
And I did check outside the tank and in the sump for piece of mind.
Appreciate the concern.

My pair of Sunset Anthias came out of quarantine a few days ago. They are physically much smaller than both the Lyretails and Bartlett's, but they maneuver quicker. The two existing males would get into it from time to time, so I was hesitant to add a third male to the system. Luckily, the male Sunset is very passive and doesn't exhibit the typical long dorsal fin that other male and semi-male anthias do, so the residents just treat him as one of the girls.

This species doesn't seem to eat as much per feeding as the others do. I've been feeding 3 times a day and they've become a little thicker. Both fish are very docile, but surprisingly the male doesn't really harass the female like the others. The quickest way to sex them seems to be the red stripe on the dorsal side of the caudal fin.

Very nice additions.
Is this becoming the new "Anthias Heaven" thread?

Making a couple of equipment changes this weekend. This past summer, the tank temperature rose a little higher than I'd like a few times. I'm not going to get a chiller, so I need to find a couple ways to reduce heat. I've replaced the Sicce return pump with the Diablo DC 3500. This pump does the same job at half the wattage, and is quieter to boot.

Comes with a fancy controller:

Since I started keeping SPS, I've been manually dosing calcium and buffer every morning.. when I remember. We're going on a vacation for two weeks in January and I'd like to automate this and get it dialed it before we leave. I picked up a couple discounted BRS Dosing Pumps and hooked everything up for calcium. Going to program this into the Apex today and let it run for awhile. Once I trust it, I'll do the same for alkalinity.

Mounted in the cabinet (not sure which side gets the hard line):
