Got half the AI's installed this morning. I am officially in love with :bow:LEDs. My zoa's look great!! As for pictures I will post a few right after I finish scraping the coraline out of the way

Just got back from a week of snorkeling and so on in Grand Cayman I automated the heck out of the system before I left including a few new 1080P IP cameras. Ran the whole system including water changes remotely for 8 days. Worked flawlessly. I will try and post some photos in the next few days.

I use the same reef flow motor on my skimmer as I do on the system so I only need to stock one spare pump.

Proteins float to the surface of the tank. The overflow box surface skims all the proteins. The proteins all flow directly into the skimmer. You could argue that this is just going to take food away from the corals though.
Do you run any mechanical filtration (socks/felt etc). If not, is the reason you think they are evil (nitrate factories) or just don't need to with the skimmer pulling the large particulates first? Or other.

I have multiple filtration options and turn them on or fill them as I feel needed.
I have a UV on my 1 1/2" feed to the system I run this periodically especially when adding new fish.
I have a 4" x 10" inline filter housing off the pump as well. I run carbon, GFO, etc.. in it as needed as well.
I have the usual sump with live rock and will run filter socks on the discharge from the skimmer every once and a while.
Basically I like to have options and but more importantly I love to build things and automate

This thread has now come to a close. The seam went out on the bottom of the tank. Caught it while it was just weeping drips out the front. Saved 75% of the corals and they are in holding systems within the mechanical room. It appears the form may be trying to straighten out. It continued to tear across the front even after the water was out. Weird. Certainly could have been my craftsmanship as well.
Day 1
I found it at 9PM at night worked diligently until 1:30am getting everything in tanks and putting about 100 lbs of live rock on the deck. Good news / bad news good news it rained really hard after I put it out there so the rock got a good washing. Bad news we got crazy hail for an hour pretty much no sleep Tuesday night.
Day 2
After 24 hours of being sleep deprived and thinking about the enormous task ahead of me I was fairly sure I would liquidate and take a break for a while.
Day 3
After a good nights sleep followed by a stop by SWE on my way home I realized I will never be without a tank, it has been 15 years now what was I thinking.
Day 4
New plan coming together, new build thread will be posted shortly.

I'm sorry about your tank. I just read your build thread for the first time. This is really a impressive system. I took a 10 year break myself (no disaster, just moved). I have thoroughly enjoyed building my new system up from scratch over the last few months. Hopefully you can get some joy out of rebuilding too. Good luck and keep going, you are a talented guy.
