Cool test results.

For how accurate they claim to read a lot of the elements I think when its 0 it is zero. If there was something even if it was a tiny amount they should be able to detect it. Especially if they are saying the correct amount is 0.10.

I like their dosage and maintain additions. They are only in the ones you are deficient in which is cool. However when it says to add 15ml manganese or 238ml Potassium how are you supposed to know the potensity of such a dosage. That seems like such a huge amount compared to ug/l

Your tanks are so well equipped and you still have deviations here and there. I wouldn't be too shocked to see how crazy off my water is.

I too have been using Acropower fairly liberally and would like to know if Se and Sn are added with it.

That's the gotcha. I'm sure those dosages are specific to triton supplements. If you use anything other than theirs be prepared to do your own the Math. Justin/jstn who is a chemist by trade did the math for me on managnese for a 200g system was .2 ml of an amazon supplement. It would take quite a bit of diluting to translate that to say a 20g tank.

I wish I could find a bromine additive, any one have ideas on what I can add and the dilution factor to get this element up?

I thought I would have a little rant...

I recently switched from Tunze powerheads to Vortech, I loved the Tunze units but wanted the lower profile of the Vortech product.

I can honestly say after 4 weeks on the Vortech product that they are a pile of crap, these have to be the noisiest things I have ever used, I purchased 4 rebuild kits and two additional wetsides and even changing wet sides and rebuilding heads the things just vibrate you can adjust these things till they are silent enough to not be a distraction in the room and come back in the evening and they are vibrating again. I really don't see how they get away with it, the wetted bearing setup needs a complete redesign. I can wait for the Maxspect Gyre units to come out. Hopefully it will put these guys out of business :)
No love here for Ecotech Marine which is a shame since they are a USA company with USA manufactured product which I love and is always my choice over foreign product, But dam guys get your act together and hire some real engineers to design for you.

Things aligned right? I've never used vortech, appreciate the honest feedback. I still think both tunze and vortech are over priced for what they do.

Just saw a manufacturer post that maxspect gyre will be apex controllable early/mid 2015

Don't you use Ozone. The low values may have something to do with that. Also here is an excerpt from an article I found saying don't add bromine if you use ozone as it will have a bad side effect:

"In some recent material in various publication authors such as Ron Shimek and Craig Bingham suggest that bromine may be a needed supplement for all corals. Indeed it is present in natural seawaters and is not present in artificial salts. Since no conclusive evidence is available at this time, judgement as to the need for this supplement will have to be defered until we can find out more information. It would make sense though that corals would benefit from it as its concentration in natural seawater is high.
One note of caution though, if bromine is added to your aquarium, ozone cannot be used as it will create toxic by-products"

I just skimmed it but here is the link: http://reefcentral.co.uk/forums/archive/index.php/t-2803.html

Thanks Dave, I do use Ozone so no Bromine for me.

Well I have succumbed to the Pier pressure of the club and am moving away from acrylic to glass, My 300DD glass tank arrives in a couple of weeks. Dreading the move LOL

Yeah baby.

I haven't had mine long enough to really know how I like it, but so far, it rocks.

Looking forward to updates. Give a holler when it comes, I will try to get out to help carry it in.

Besides peer pressure, what turned you away from acrylic??

Nothing really, I love Acrylic. I got an amazing deal on the tank I could not turn down.

I will now have two 150Gall acrylic tanks for sale LOL

Ok, will be pulling together a larger build in the not to distant future, was curious if you had issues
