So I was looking over my tank this evening and just as I was watching my skunk shrimp it let out a dusting of ??? babies. Pretty stoked as I watched them swim around for a bit then get eaten up. Just wanted to share as I was pretty excited. Sorry I couldn't snap a pic but it all happened pretty fast. Anybody else watch their skunks spawn?

It is always so much fun and exciting finding larval shrimp (or crabs) swimming around in a tank in the evening.

(I always also find it depressing, knowing that I won't have time to try raising them up, and would likely not have much if any success in doing so even if I tried!)

my CBS always spawn, Now that I paired my skunks they too are, peps also now that I look. just wish I could raise a few.

Wow, pretty amazing to get to see that! I hope my tank eventually reaches a point of stability where that's possible.

We've witnessed this event with our Cleaner Shrimp a couple of times.
At first I thought something was really wrong with the water, until we took a flashlight and looked closer. Really neat to see; almost alien looking!
By morning we could only find a couple here and there, but we're sure fish finished them off.

Congrats!

This is the first time I've achieved this. I have no way of knowing if I ever had a pair in the past either tho. That said, there is definitely a sense of accomplishment when you see something trying to reproduce in your tank.

When I first saw this happening I thought crap, my shrimp is about to explode and die. Once I realized what had happened I ran to get my wife and daughter. You could definitely see them trying to swim a little. At first my fish ignored then, once they figured out they were food they didn't last long. Amazing thing to witness.

It's also very cool to see others have seen this. Definitely one of the joys of the hobby.

I was able to witness it once in my tank - did the same thing as you - quick ran to get Kev to see.

One of the coolest things to see

Tells ya your doing something right!!!

Congrats sir!!!
