I picked up a flasher wrasse a few weeks ago.
I noticed yesterday that I haven't seen the fish since I did a water change on Saturday.
I don't think that the fish jumped out because I have looked around the tank fairly close any haven't noticed a body. Although he was a smaller fish.
So my only assumptions can be that either the fish is still so freaked out that it hasn't come out of hiding. Or it ducked into a piece of the uppermost rock work that was exposed to air for a while and unfortunately suffocated. I've tried to peek into all the holes in the rick but haven't noticed a body anywhere.
Kind of just writing off the fish at this point, especially since I haven't seen him dart out during feedings even. My only glimmer of hope is that the rock work I typically noticed the fish hiding in during the time I had it, was never out of the water.
Just curious if others have experiences with long-term hiding with flashers.
