Haven't been able to make much progress without a sump.
My custom Trigger Systems sump was on schedule to ship this week, but they have been a bit backed up. It should be on its way next week. Then the real setup can begin.
Have been thinking of doing green sch40 pvc (from BRS) to match the Trigger Emerald sump. Also tossing around the idea of an ATI 24" (8bulb) fixture for lighting.
We'll see though. Thanks for checking in.

Started cord management and equipment placement. Now I need to finalize the equipment placement, and order the Vectra-specific driver mount, then off to plumbing.

Need to drill a bigger hole for the Apex Display cord. But you get the point.

You may have issues with the Vortech cord setup, I have found that long term if the unit does not "hang from the cord" you will find the units start to move relative to the wetside's and you are forever having to adjust them.

I've heard of others with the same issues with the Vortechs. It hasn't been my experience over all of the Vortechs I've ever owned, all of which the cords have ran everything but "conventional". Time will tell, I suppose.
I'll actually pull the sock. These Emerald sumps come with a few options for mechanical filtration. The sock retainer is removable and an optional filter pad is included. I'll use the pad, as it is much quicker to clean. It's difficult to explain. I'll try to get a few pictures.

I use to run a spacer for thicker glass so they would stay in place but realized this resulted in the wetside's needing more regular maintenance (mean time between failure decreased).
Maybe this is an acrylic thing? Glass and acrylic certainly have different friction coefficients. I've run my two pumps with cords out the side and bottom, but never had an issue either.

The space that was looking all neat and clean...quickly filled up with cords.
Trust me, these photos make it look WAY more busy and unorganized than it really is. I'm sort of disappointed that it doesn't come through.
Anyway, here's what happened today.
-Added Trigger Systems 5gal ATO box.
-Painted sch40 joints gray to match the unions and valve.
-Hooked Apex up to the Internet and added under cabinet light to operate with Breakout Box. (Skimmer lid float switch was hooked up on previous build.)
-Cord Management!!!! This took most of the day.
Quite a few other things as well, but those are the big ones. Next update should include water!!!
