Jonty's latest Build thread (1 Viewer)

Advanced Acrylics in California, the have built a lot of tanks and Sumps for me over the years the current sump was fabricated by them. They just started offering PVC a few months ago, dreading how much this is going to weigh I am going to need a few folks to get everything moved around.

cool, love the red and grey combo. :)

He has been a pretty good supplier, he has a fish I always wanted right now but can not bring myself to part with the money.

Pretty nice fish, I got flames and a pair of pintails
Off him, been looking for a rhomboid or lineatus pair; should
Of grabbed the lineatus trio the other week

I am ready to switch over sumps and fish room tank, wondering if anyone would be able to help on July 9th with the move sumps are large and cumbersome, outgoing sump is 72x24x24 and incoming is 72x36x24. This is the move to install larger filter roll system, Red dragon pumps, Arid 30 Cheato reactor and DaStaCo calcium reactor.

I've been meaning to ask, is your green with blue tip stag a named coral?

It's the one that is by the left overflow (partially obscured) and another piece is just left of center under the wrasse that is swimming away from the camera.

They are two different corals I will look up purchase info and get back to you, I tend not to worry about the names so they are not in the memory bank.

So if you tire of the larger "Geometric Pygmy Hawkfish" and want to pass him on, I'm interested. And the pair of "Bicolor Angelfish" too! ;)

Long couple of days, decide to haul the sump downstairs on my own which was a bit tricker that I though given the weight and size. Then go to switching everything out to the new system which as you all know takes hours and hours with many "oh i did not think of that " moments. Anyway its all up and running with a new sump that actually makes the skimmer look normal, new roller mat unit, new calcium reactor setup (weird not having to check anything it is just automatic) and finally the Cheato reactor cranking way. I also added a neptune DOS system to dose Iron/Moly and Nitrates.
everything is still a bit of a mess but I will work on straightening everything up over the next few days.

I'm also not a huge fan of all of the crazy coral names. But names do make it a lot easier to track down a frag.

WTB: sweet green stag I saw in Jonty's tank, is unlikely to be successful...unless you want to part with a piece (and in that case I could care less about the name).

so what size of a chaeto reactor did you get? and where did you get it? I am curious as to how it works and whether it is more successful then a refugium

Thought the chaeto thing sounded interesting but then saw the cost is similar to some of your fishes. :gay1:

I saw some interesting forum threads which has older prices that were much lower bought direct. Looks like though that unique is the online retailer now. Seems like though that DIY conversion of a media reactor could be done.

Ive seen some DIY ones done with the "waterproof led strips" as the lighting but I can't imagine those being as efficient.
