It's more fun for non reef people to see everything moving in the current

Yup. Out of all the corals in my tank, non reef people always say the frogspawn is there favorite.

Btw the tank looks awesome!

Agreed. Anemones and zoas in my tank seem to be a fan favorite (not to mention i really like both so its a win win lol)

Hooray!!! Christmas in April!!!
Oh, crap... Is that why we're going to get dumped on this weekend? We don't want that!

Tank looks great!!!
I'm jealous as I sit and wait for my new tank to be delivered.

Thanks Everyone! Sorry for bringing the snow up here, but to be fair i did place the order back in november when the snow was welcome ;)

Ill be updating this quite a bit over the next couple days, hopefully with pictures and such as well haha

Unfortunately i have hit a snag in my skills. I do not know ANYTHING about plumbing. Like i dont even know what i dont know. So I may be reaching out to the community to see if someone would be willing to lend their knowledge to help a guy out haha

Same here, I'm not ashamed to admit it, I have very basic plumbing knowledge...if that. But that's why I'm here to learn with you all. I've been researching a water mixing station recently and seeing an external pump, two tanks and 20 ft of plumbing with 8 valves seemingly going nowhere and back to the same tanks is overwhelming and confusing. I could use a crash course in plumbing as well.

Progress is progress! Didn't order the right plumbing stuff so only got this far, need a few unions and reducers before I can even do the leak test.

Hey it's a start at least. When will you be finishing the plumbing and leak test?
I think I'll get the rest of the stuff on Tuesday, I ordered what I need from BRS. I hope to finish that night or Wednesday, and then I'll fill the tank with rodi and mix the salt in the tank if the leak test passes

Well. The build is post poned. SCAquariums is sending me a new display, I didn't notice this until it was under lighting in th house instead of garage but sure enough it was chipped in shipping somehow. The replacement display ships June 25th

too bad about the tank.
you do want to put something under the sump to even out the surface.

I'm going out to check mine today, makes me uneasy. Could only imagine how you felt initially. I do like that Steve is willing to ship you a new one.
I feel if I have the same issue with mine, waiting to contact him 3 months from date of delivery he may not be so willing to ship me a new one.

That’s the one awesome thing about Steve he takes care of you! I had asked him to ship mine through valley cartrage when it got in state. We have a lot of issues with Saia at work. He was more then happy to work with me on that. Good luck on the exchange! This just gives you a second chance at changing stuff out already lol

I'm terrible at aquascaping so this is the best I got, was trying to leave plenty of open space, and be able to keep things separated.

There will be ~2 inches of sand as well so between the sand and the overflows and whatnot I'm expecting about 17" or so of water from top to sand bed. This should be shallow enough to make lighting everything easy!

Looks nice! how did you end up creating the overhang? Acrylic rod, glue, putty? Or was the rock naturally shaped that way?

Also, Just personal preference but I always like to keep a bit of space behind the scape so that flow can get behind the rockwork easier, removing a potential detritus trap. Even a couple of inches can go a long way. Looks like you may have this accounted for already though.
