I've only ever used the mag floats, but want to get one of the Algae Free magnets for the new 120g(1/2" glass) tank.
I plan to use the scraper attachment so I need it to be a strong hold.

Will the piranha be enough or should I get the hammerhead?
Who else uses these and what do you like/dislike about them?

Chris

Be careful, if you buy the overpowered one, you may not be able to move it at all. Just ask Li :)

I got the Hammerhead Float at Premiumaquatics, I think Dirk sells them also.
Did not see if any of the LFS have them SF, SWE, OD.

Call us. We will be at the store by 11AM.

Should be about the same as online prices. Between the member discount, taxes, shipping... figure out all these things and its pretty much a wash on most of our items.

Are you guys willing to do what the Kansas LFS does and post up their inventory/new shipments and prices on the forums so people can know ahead of time.

The Kansas LFS? There notoriety has not reached me.

Unless we are able to make immediate sales on that information (AKA having an online store) it seems the huge benefit would be to our competitors.

A lot of time, money, and effort went into making a comfortable, informative, fair priced, ethical, over filtered store everyone has been asking for. You already know we have great prices... and thats before the Members 5%. Our main goal is NOT to bargain till we have the lowest price in the world. Our main goal is to provide a center for reef-keeping you feel is worthy of supporting. We hope you feel Saltwater Empire is what you have dreamed of an LFS: roDI, QTed fish, All dipped corals, Reef-specific goods at near (and sometimes under) online prices, awesome tanks where you can see the actual coral (vs doctored photos online), Reefcrystals pre-mixed saltwater and roDI in units you can check the tds in before you purchase it, A comfortable showroom to sit and discuss your tanks needs, convent location off the highway, a place you can actually bring your spouse to with out endangering your marriage!
We can not be everything to everyone; we won't spread the focus of the store thin. We believe SWE is how a marine specialty store should be done; we hope you do to! Support the store we all dreamed of, stop on in and let us help you get what you need.

Thanks,

Fritz

Really the mag float will still work fine on the 120g with the razor attachment.

I keep my mag float in the tank for quick swipes, but have the other for coraline and a good cleaning. the mag works ok, floats allot in the corners and feels wimpy in cleaning, its easily knocked off on the inside and wants to float away. The AFM is much stronger than my $20 mag float. that was the thought behind the razor on that one. It keeps great contact and works very well. I dry the razor after every use and do not keep it in the tank. IMO good strength and a razor make for great coraline cleaning. One of the few purchases that wows me every time i use it. Great money spent in my opinion.

Indeed your store is all that and a bag of chips but there's nothing to fear posting up prices and pictures to induce people to get off their computers and drop by. LMAO to the other stuff you said. :rotflmao:

Could be true. I will keep it in mind. There is still that "red flag" feeling in the back of my mind. Next time you are in run your thoughts by me in person. I'm always up for a brain storm. (but my wife calles them brain-farts when I am involved :( ).

You know your buddy Li sure knows how to take some nice realistic pictures of corals so it looks the same as being in person  maybe you can use that to your advantage to help induce more people to drop by.

I'm not a business person, but that seems like an awful lot of work to go through unless you are going to sell online.

I would love to see corals online so that I can decide if I want to go down there. However, it doesn't make much business sense. Retail thrives on impulse buys - you go in for one thing and find something else to take home. Taking that away might actually decrease sales.

There are the window shoppers and the internet shoppers and photos and prices online IMO helps induce the internet shoppers to jump in their cars and make the trip to the LFS and that alone will induce some other impulse buys too along with what they came for.

We'll talk some more about this when ever I come by.

Back on topic NOW.
