UPDATE:

Well as of Wed night after battling internal parasite of a couple of newbie wrasses that were in QT for almost 3 mos, I add them to my display after being fallow for over 120 days.

I also have a few others fairies and flashers in QT now that I plan to add in the coming weeks.

As of right now, I am headed to an all wrasse reef but may change as my daughters want something different in the tank. They think I need something blue. But what?

Also, battling a little STN on a couple of corals due to raised ALK from being fishless I think. I also thinking about setting up QT coral tank in the near term to house the coral for 45 days to reduce likelihood of ich or velvet eggs attaching to the coral. But I may just risk it and place into DT. Trying to decide but may just be way too overly cautious and anxious about it. I probably read too much online!

Gorgeous wrasses; two of my favorites!

New inhabitant just released last night from acclimation box. He seems to be doing well. Not the best pic.

New wrasse headed into acclimation box in DT today.

Also switched over to TM balling for dosing last week. So far so good on stability.

Update: I have been battling low alk and cannot seem to raise it so I think I pinned it down to low PH given the basement location of my tank. On Sunday PH was 7.5 morning and 7.8 evening. I believe its contributing to my lower Alk issues. I don't have readily access to the outside world from the tank location, so I added a simple CO2 scrubber. I attached it to my skimmer pump and also to the collection cup for moist recycled air. Well, after I hooked it up, my PH it now 8.0 this morning at about 8 am and 8.2 at about 9pm last night. Alk is now about 6.0. It's come up some but after a discussion with Lou at TP, I plan to increase Part B a couple ML to get to my desired range. Hopefully increasing to my desired levels over the next couple of days.

Have to rearrange the sump area a tad to hang the scrubber but here it is.

So it’s been awhile since my last update so it’s way overdue.

Well I have my Alk dialed in and now trying to get my Calc up. Sitting at 330 now. PO4 is .01 and Nitrates are zero. Need to get those up some but corals look great and are growing. I use reef roids once a week but planning to increase that to 3 times per week and planning to start acropower as well. Fingers crossed.

I also switched out my two C+ bulbs and am running 4 B+. I like the colors.

Let’s see my MP10 finally decided the glass was too thick for the magnet to work so I plan to replace it with a Octo due to the directional ability for my supplemental flow. I have been trying to add more flow and am contemplating sand removal - at least around the outer sections. I have a transitioning M. Bipartitus so would like to keep some in the middle.

Here’s a few SPS that need to be placed:

I really need to figure out the photo thing. Not my cup of tea.

Also trying to do vid but not wanting to load.

I like mount Millie

Thinking of doing a mount or peak or cove Millie myself.

Thanks.

Yeah I have a rainbow in there and a palmers blue. Will add more but boy do they love to be blasted with flow and light.

Nice looking wrasses!
I'm sure the Attenuatus must be blinding when he flashes!

LOL! To be honest, he does not flash that much. He is still pretty young and the others flash a lot more. I'll be adding a few more in the next month or so and maybe that will change. He is certainly my favorite and the most personable.

Well back from the Caribbean and the tank survived. I had the pellet feeder hooked up and a buddy drop by to plop in some mysis a couple of days and fill the ato one day. All is good and the corals have great polyp extension. My alk did drop from 8.0 to 6.4 but am chalking that up to the addition of three new torches before I left. Starting to add more ALK ml to my dosing so its slowly creeping back up to 7 as of this morning.

Also have a couple of newbies in QT about ready to go into DT

And added 6 fang blennies from Chad

Had two escape into overflow but waited them out and both ended up in my filter sock. Now back in DT.

Little dudes escapes through the tiniest opening song ad to shore it up under my return pipe.

Battling a little GHA as well. Been pulling it and doing frequent changes. May try to zap it with fluconozole. And of course feed a little less. No nitrates and low phosphates.

We shall see.
