Couple changes/observations...

1st my blueface continues to be a very shy fish unlike most emperors I've seen but otherwise is well behaved for now.

2nd the calcium reactor is live!

Today's increase could be from a kalk pasting I did this morning.

It went from this

I also added the CO2 purge valve to it so no more manual purges to forget.

why did you have to add the purge valve? doesnt this version come with the Co2 recirculating design? isnt that the main selling point of this reactor? The excess Co2 rising to the top should be able to be pushed back into the Co2 intake and used up. id think that eliminates the need of purges.

It seems to greatly reduce the need for purges but not necessarily eliminate.

What I've seen many owners say is anywhere from twice a week to once a month and a few nevers.

That seems to be based on how heavy they use the reactor, though I couldn't say alot or little for certain. I "think" it's the low use people that eliminate the need to purge. Those having to purge show the pH in the chamber changing over time and effecting the effluent concentration... granted they want MAX effluent potency. The ones not purging do have a less saturated effluent but they also can just let it run more...

I had a spare solenoid laying around and figured "it can't hurt" right?

Those using remag/reborn also don't need as low of a pH and can be a factor.

@nox.rupaw I got the answers for you...

People who have alot of micro bubbles or high demand will need to purge due to air molecules or micro bubbles that get sucked into the reactor. *off gassing from tank water.

Everyone else will purge once a month or never.

From the meeting yesterday, seems like the cell phone does a reasonable job on anything 10-15" or closer.

Violet, no idea but it was branching and looks like a monti.

Trying out some new shots tonight... some might be a bit over adjusted but it's a good effort for a first try on a new screen.

Overall I was really happy with the color accuracy and picked up the blues better. The one I had the hardest time was the final one of the hyperberry because the pink tips are hot.
