Surprise, Another SPS Tank (1 Viewer)

Tank in place and running with no casualties!

Doors on! You can see how the doors are darker- water based stain is a nightmare to use so I think with future furniture I’ll be doing oil based stain and water based poly. The stain isn’t what causes the month of smell after all, it’s the poly.

I also got the dosed hooked up and running for TM Balling part c.

Now I just have to make a decorative trim for the top rim and then get to deciding what I’m to do for lights. Thinking of making a hanging canopy with 4x54 T5 overdriven with a 660 and add a reefbrite i have collecting dust. That should be pretty close of not more PAR than I have now with 6x36 and better coverage.

Looking great Ben! Interested to see how the top rim trim turns out.

Thanks! I’ll make it out of 1x4 like the last tank but on this one I’m going to router out a channel to hide the Vortech cables that are attached to the tank trim. That is once I decide I’m happy with them. Still on the fence as they make more noise than I like (and would expect for $350 pumps vs $50 Jebaos.

took a couple pics with the wife's nice point and shoot that turned out surprisingly well! Gah they're too large so I have to figure out resizing them.

Alright last one. Got the aquascape finished as I had corals getting moved around etc. I may add one more rock structure on the back left later but I’ll let things settle down now. Shouldn’t be any phos issues as all my dry rock has been acid bathed, bleached, and soaked in RO for a month with numerous water changes.

One question! Will I regret putting zoas on my main rock structure? They’re pink diamonds so not like a crappy invasive one. Whenever I see zoas covering rock structures on mature tanks it looks really nice. My branching corals are on pegs so I can pull them and scrape encroaching zoas when it comes to that.

Also please don’t point out the paint drips on the tank back behind the trim i have a complex about it. Waiting on more sand to even out coverage and hide that.

I like the look a rock full of zoas but I would just watch them so they don't get intrusive.

Love the rocks and all the swimming room but you need to showcase that Raja! Love it!

Yeah I hear that! I had it showcased before, but the way everything came together I just didn’t have a great spot for it. I think as it grows it will be more prominent.

Return pump upgrade! Even though I decoupled return with silicone tube and installed sump on yoga mat I’m still getting vibration drone from my return pump and it’s annoying. I’m a diehard AC return pump guy because they just work so I figured if I’m going DC it better has the least amount of failure points possible so it was this or the Abyzz a100 and I couldn’t justify 1400 bones for I pump I would turn down to 25% anyway. I like the 10 year warranty but a new impeller costs more than this red dragon!
