Following- I'm curious what the answer is
I didnt even realize until i had to drain for a tank move. All that is in the tank now is a very small mantis shrimp and random CUC that are nothing near the spawn. Past tenants wiped out peppermints and one laden female coral-banded. Or its somehow come over from breeding in my connected reef tank? Doubt that last part

Do they have easy to see white (eyes?) spots? Years ago I was given some small shrimp that I was told were some type of mysis and they look similar to your video. All my tanks have them now but they never get bigger than about 1/2" long max.

Look into MYSID shrimp. Frequent hitchhikers with rock and algae from established systems.

Very hard to tell. almost look kind of reddish in middle but i do see some light colored spot near the head, maybe two. will investigate more during the final tank move

From the video - the movement pattern reminds me a lot of the mentioned mysid shrimp. They used to be in abundance in the SWE tanks back in the day...I was always trying to catch some to seed my tanks lol

Update! I saw this morning early before work for the first time so slightly larger more grown up ones. Attaching another video for everyone as i think the mysis shrimp idea is the winner!

As Reefer Oz said, they are mysiD shrimp - a bit different from the mysis shrimp we feed our fish. Mysid shrimp often come in as possible hitchhikers and are a sign of a healthy system - you're lucky to have them :)

Thank you! I had not realized the different spellings. Happy to have them!
