When people have issues with chromis it is because groups of chromis kill each other off, they don't just die magically. Especially when there is only one.[/QUOTE]

This info has been out in the hobby for years now. Yet some lfs will still recommend, and hobbyist will still cram a bunch in a tank and watch them disappear one by one.

I just caught myself up to speed on your build and while the silicone worries me a little too, I'd still try a hardier fish like a clown or royal gramma. Have you tried a coral or two yet?

while i love the blue/green chromis look, and it does seem that chromis for some reason have steadily had a high mortality rate in the more recent times.. there are othes out there that seem to do better... more cash yes.... but look for something like Black Axil Chromis (Chromis atripectoralis)

compared to the blue/green

almost identical and sooooooo much hardier and peacful with tankmates of the same species

p.s heres a write up by tropical fish hobbiest... who actually wrote an article 5 species for begginers and 5 to avoid... chromis was stated to avoid... link
